I'd make the border more visible, at least on some parts. The left corner isn't visible at all and it makes it look lacking.

When you say scaled wrongly do you mean the photo size or the background?
800x800 works really well for avatars, providing a great quality image.
The background is supposed to have that effect, almost like a dripping paint.

But I decided to only cut out about 75px, since 100px made it seem a little too squished in my opinion. And looking at it now, the background's really weird D: On my photoshop, it looks evenly smudged, but here it looks all blocky. halp? :3
