Glad it helped:) Haven't played any of those matchups recently but I added some strategy in the guide. I will update it some more after I get a game against them haha
Do you know what you should do as Lux in match ups against Zyra, Syndra and Orianna?
Zyra and Syndra usually kill me with their long range burst and I cannot seem to beat a good laning Orianna in a clean way.
Thank you.
Thanks haha glad it helped
@koksei
I mean I am able to consistently win and control lane with the build and don't have any problems building into late game getting to where I can catch and one burst the carries. It is an efficient build for me haha
And I also main lux, no need to give it a try
As far as survivability, it's not that you don't get ganked, but you have the range to farm while staying at a good position to respond and react to a gank. Before hitting 6, have the top river warded once your jungler takes his second buff. Most times junglers will head into top lane for a gank, occasionally they will come mid. Grabbing wards and keeping sight of the river up should let you back off before the enemy gets close enough to do anything
@koksei
I mean give it a try, it works for me I am 197-148 in ranked with lux so it works for me
gosh I know why people still say mobafire is ****
If you can't get 880 gold by the first time you go back, then you aren't playing Lux correctly. You yourself said that Lux has a very safe laning phase. There should be no reason for you to get less than at least 60 CS by the 10 minute mark. Yes,
Controlling the lane does not mean you get zero ganks. Actually, it's quite the opposite. If the enemy laner is having a difficult time, the jungler is going to gank some point in the laning phase to make sure they don't have a useless member of the team by the time teamfights start breaking out. If they don't, then the jungler isn't doing his/her job correctly.
That being said, it is still no excuse to not run any defensive runes/masteries whatsoever. If you were making a guide for a bot game, then I would say go for it! But this is a guide (I'm presuming) for ranked, and in ranked opponents will abuse the fact that you are squishy. In fact, I find it ironic that you label Lux as "very squishy" in your Pros/Cons, yet you take nothing to remedy that.
You shouldn't be getting ganks, as you want to aim your e not directly into the wave but using it to minimize minion damage while hitting the enemy champ. If the lane pushes up you can e the entire wave so the tower will reset the wave back to the middle of the lane or you should be between where the river starts and your tower. If you get ganked it will have to be a tower dive most times. Also early, you know where the jungler will be ganking from in this meta since they all start bottom buff they will gank from top side of the river. Knowing jungle timers or having a jungler duo to keep the times for you will let you know which side the jungler will come from, letting you trinket or just keep to one side of the lane. It's something you need to adjust to, but playing all damage early is what lets me control the lane hard. I have like 400 games of lux this season though so I am really comfortable with knowing what she can do and what plays you can pull off. You shouldn't be in a gankable position unless you know your mid is roaming somewhere else though
I really only know like basic coding, There is a lot of stuff I have no idea how to do. The guide isn't the prettiest but if it helps someone play her a little better it was worth making haha.
Taking pure damage will not only make you ridiculously weak against the enemy laner, what do you plan on doing when the enemy jungler comes to gank? If the enemy decides to go on LoLNexus and sees that you're running zero defense (in both runes and masteries), you can bet that they'll tell their jungler to come and camp your lane for free kills/gold/exp.
While you have demonstrated a relatively good amount of coding knowledge, there's a lot you could do to make your guide more interesting to read. I recommend you look at some of the high rated guides here on MOBAFire for a good idea of what advanced coding can really make your guide look like.
Lux's kit though is that if she can get her burst off, which is pretty instantaneous since the ult isn't a channel but simply has a delay from triggering, she has already successfully completed her role of the team fight. Remember that she isn't a continual damage champion like kass. If you can get your damage out and burn key skills and spells you should trust your team to clean up. If you zhonyas before they engage with say a vi or noc ult, give your team a heads up to peel you in that situation. There isn't enough stats from runes to save you since lux doesn't have an escape.
Also in the case where lux has become fed, it will trickle down to the rest of your team since you put most of your damage early in the fight your team should pick up some kills themselves.
Lux is literally a glass cannon, and many forget that her damage significantly drops after she ults so if they blow a lot to get you it should be beneficial to your team. But on that same note, still stay in the back line. So if they want to get you they have to truck through the big boys first.
