While there some series from pretty much every genre of anime that I've liked, I'd say the ones I consistently enjoy the most are psychological thrillers. They tend to have the best character progression (hell, I guess it's more character degradation) and most of them avoid the character tropes I hate.
I haven't seen Parasyte -the Maxim- mentioned in any of the previous few pages - is anyone else watching it? The manga was completed in the '90s and it just finally had an anime adaptation! The basic plot is that a new type of parasite that overtakes its host's brain and eats other humans has descended upon earth and the protagonist has been unsuccessfully infected by one. Instead of taking control of his brain, it only managed to become his right hand, and the two try to coexist. As the series progresses, the protagonist slowly loses his humanity and the parasite slowly gains human qualities.
It's an interesting take on the genre because of the interdependence the parasite and protagonist have and the relationship they form. I think the anime adaptation is practically flawless so far.

I was really optimistic about the AgK series' choice to go for an original ending, I really was... Until the most recent episode. Rip in peace AgK series, I hope you get a decent remake later.
Dude, seriously. Stop fixating on a bad series. There are series FAR more deserving of a remake than AgK!... (yes, there is an exclamation mark in the ****ing title...)
I mean, Berserk is a prime example. The anime adaptation was pretty **** and the manga is considered by many to be the best manga ever written.

This guy is just hilarious. He also points out some of the problems I had with the show. (also, the pacing is very different from the manga, whomever is his source for information of the contrary is wrong)

It's still watchable. In fact, it's still a fun watch if you're looking for something brainless and just action filled. It's just that the story, which was already shallow, has just completely disappeared. Potholes everywhere, and the pacing is so odd. At this rate, I reckon a harem ending will be more satisfying than what this is making it up to be.
I can be naive and still hope for it to be Fate/Stay Nightified, can't I?
Imma 'bout to end this man's whole career My rather unimpressive and slowly growing anime list! Currently watching:

Nah, I'm just annoyed by stupid/unrealistic expectations.
