Music taste/ why listening to music in general?

It's sort of frustrating when you listen to electronic music to see one or, maybe, two options (Dance is so vague that I have no idea what you actually mean) that encompass every single sub-genre of the genre when rock is split into different sub-genres (this from a person who listens to both types of music). The differences between the different types in each genre are fairly close to equal, so why are they not treated somewhat equally in that sense? I feel as though it should be consistent in that, at least, and also in alphabetical order (because it drives me crazy that it's not). On another note "soundtrack" isn't really a genre. Soundtracks are usually classical music and I'm not sure why a separate category was needed there.[/quote]

I get your point and you're right about it but I still need some input to know exactly what isn't supposed to be put together etc.. For instance you've said that you listen to electronic music: Is it more something like Electronic/ House, Dance (it's like similar to the first ones http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dance_music#2010s) or Alternative/ Indie Pop? I can hardly say what "Alternative" covers because it also includes some pop/ electronic music. I can work on the alphabetical order but regarding your first point I still have still trouble understanding it. I spliteed the genres I believe people listen the most to. I could possibly split Rock and Metal too then ... Edit: I seemingly cannot change the order of the answer options ..[/quote]
