How I Play Zeri
For additional details, tips n tricks to how i play zeri you guys should check out my extended guide, it explains anything else that I haven't explained or shown here in mobafire.

for a small TLDR, i always max W as the burst increase is more signifcant than Q dps. The Q dps is also fake tbh (I HAVE THE MATH IN THE FIRST GUIDE SO PLEASE WATCH IT FOR CONTEXT)
Zeri is a better burst champion in early-mid game, and transitions into being her hypercarry DPS identity once she scales in mid-late game. Hence why I max my W or have some runes/builds that look unfamiliar to the "standard" of lethal tempo + resolve tree.
Resolve tree does NOT help with current zeri as her meta build is crit. If you were running a bruiser variant then sure but +8 resistances and 200 minimum flat HP does not actually help us live longer. Zeri's job is to do damage as she's a hypercarry, take runes to help you do your job.
Also please, i beg all of you, use your E SPARINGLY. AS AN ESCAPE/REPOSITION TOOL.
Time and time again I have seen zeri players use E for damage to get them killed and then say "hey game's impossible" when the dash they're using for a small amount of increased damage, can instead be used to dash across whatever size wall you're looking to use to reposition. YOU CAN BUFFER CC WITH ZERI E ! ABUSE THAT.
Positioning wise on zeri, look to play around the walls. Walls are your playmaking angles since your E's and W's rely so much on it. It'll make a big difference in your gameplay when you're able to get creative with those angles.
Zeri's laning phase is rather weak until level 6, so you want to prioritize survival and farm. Otherwise you can look to play for SHORT trades pre-6, utilizing your empowered W's and Passive AA's for healthier laning and effective trade patterns.
If you want to use W for waveclear, i recommend using it ONCE per wave. If you want to use it for damage, use it more selectively: on enemy mispositions and/or follow up(i.e your naut supp gets a hook in and cc's, throw in some of your dmg)
Just for a general idea of your strength in lane
Level 1: CANNOT FIGHT (very little niche situations where you could, recommended to not)
Levels 2-3: A bit more strength but still lacking
Level 6: You're now able to solo fight MOST other ADCs because of the raw damage on your R as well as the steroid it gives
zeri's identity overall is to be this teamfighting monster, so your goal is to be at EVERY SINGLE FIGHT. Your ONE AND ONLY JOB, is to do damage. If a fight is to breakout and you're taking a wave, take the fight. 5 Players on a potentially "wrong play" is the correct play if you're all together on it, compared to if half the team is playing for the "correct play" but not all of you are together on it.
