Roaming/carrying
Most important thing to carry with bard is ROAM! Bard is a great roamer he can set up the perfect ganks for his Midlaner and Jungler
Once you have bought your Boots Of Mobility, you can let the roaming begin.
you only roam when the enemy botlane has left their lane (backed)
or when there is no possible way you can kill the enemy botlane
There is no reason for you to stay botlane and do nothing, when there is a perfect opportunity for a gank and a kill midlane
And then your adc will gets a lot of solo EXP to get ahead in the game, while you get EXP from meeps and ganks!
