Threats & Synergies
Brand is rated as an extreme threat due to the range of his abilities, his burst damage, and his ability to zone. Out trading Brand as Lulu is nearly impossible if you're laning again a good Brand player.
Thresh is a matchup you should look to avoid. Simply due to the fact that your Polymorph is a shorter range than his hook, so by the time you are in-range to Polymorph he may catch you with a hook/flay. If you get stuck in this match-up try to bait his hook, and poke him when you know his hook is on cooldown.
Significant amount of poke, but if Zilean fails to land both bombs your shield will negate the damage. Can be a nuisance but shouldn't pose a massive threat.
Twitch + Lulu is a fantastic match-up. Try to W the Twitch while invisible, and then shield when he reveals himself. Twitch's damage and attack speed is already very strong, adding Lulu buffs makes him scary.
I almost exclusively play Lulu when I see an Aphelios. Reason being: Aphelios scales very well off of a few kills. Lulu allows Aphelios to snowball into a monster, and makes him essentially unkillable.
Champion Build Guide
Hi there! My name is TheBeardedPickle, and I've been playing League of Legends for 7 years. Previously hitting Plat 1 last season and documenting my journey from Unranked - Diamond as Support as I thought this would be a great idea for challenging myself, whilst providing great content! If you have any questions about this guide, or want to catch me in the action feel free to swing by My Youtube and Stream. I try to be as in-depth about my thoughts/decision making during the game as possible.
Lulu has been one of the strongest Support picks for many seasons. The reason Lulu players see so much success is because her kit has such a big impact in the majority of match-ups. A slow, shield, polymorph, and a life saving ult, What more could you want??
Q - Glitterlance - This ability is a slowing effect that can be used to chase an enemy, or simply disengage when being chased. Glitterlance can also be paired with her E if used on an enemy or minion. This works great if your enemy is playing passive and out of range of your q normally. Simply use your Glitterlance on a backline minion, and direct your Q in the direction of the enemy.
W - Whimsey - This ability two separate qualities depending on who W is used on.
Enemy: Enemy is polymorphed, rendering them unable to attack or use spells temporarily.
Ally: Grants attack speed/movement speed. It's recommended to use Whimsey when helping a teammate gap close. Giving a teammate bonus movement speed will save them from forcing a flash to engage on the enemy team. You can also use this while your ADC is attacking a turret to do more damage over a prolonged period of time.
E - Help, Pix! - Help, Pix! is similar to Whimsey in the sense that it has 2 qualities depending on who it's been casted on.
Enemy: Commands Pix to jump to the enemy and cause damage/grant temporary vision. Great to use this early to negate any initial damage.
Ally: Grants ally a generous shield, and applies an effect when the ally attacks. Great to use this early to negate any initial damage. The cooldown time is very low, so given the duration of the engagement, you may be able to use this to shield your ally a second time.
Both Lulu's W - Whimsey & E - Help, Pix! are situational. In most scenarios, unless you're ahead it's always safe to E your ally, and W the carry. If you're stomping a team, than you can get away with burning your W on allies, and E on enemies. Feel out the situation, and play it accordingly.
R - Wild Growth - Grants a significant amount of health, knocks up nearby enemies, and creates a slowing effect. This ability is great for keeping a carry alive. Again it's situational based on who is taking the most damage in a team fight.
I hope this guide helps you become a better Lulu! If you have questions about the guide, or something I may have missed feel free to drop by twitch.tv/thebeardedpickle where I'm usually live 8-10 hrs a day and can quickly respond to your questions. This is my first of many guides. I'm going to work around to making a guide for all supports and hopefully helping you guys achieve the rank you're looking to get to!
Good luck & stay safe!
