Good guide! I liked the runes and the summoner spells, i think you should add resolve when you are against harder match ups tho. For the builds i think you have to add more options, besides irelia is a diverse champion with a lot of options now with season 11, also i am not that sure about the DPS build, seems kinda odd and not gonna lie, kinda bad, the build just doesnt glue up together if you get what i mean, i will surely give it a try,(in my ranked games as usuall, oh well ;D )

Hi Kmp! I have a very important question to ask- as you know building something like sustain or lifesteal or any item that helps you win in a long fight for example thornmail helps deal dmg when inflicted dmg from basic attacks... these items wont be useful in a teamfight with burst mage champs and good dmg assasins.. I struggle very hard in teamfights even with steraks gage and titanic hydra- i have no escapes once i go in and even if i wait after using R they obliterate my team and make me want to go in only to die from their insane dmg.. How do i survive in these types of teamfights- and what if the team matchup is mixed with burst mages, assasins or juggernauts or good marksmens.. how do i win a teamfight.. Btw I love you guide Thank you!

Hey, thanks for your comment! :) Sorry for the late answer, but I haven't been playing League lately neither updating my guide.

1) My main priority every game is getting the biggest lead possible. That way I'll be strong enough to either help my team get back into the game or solo carry every teamfight (this happens rarely tho...).

2) Don't rely on your team, cuz they probably won't follow. Try to wait for someone to engage first, then land Flawless Duet -backline prio-, jump onto the furthest champion, auto him then Vanguard's Edge. This will give you jump targets - usually 3 or more - and they'll fall behind in the fight.

3) Building sustain helps in teamfights! BUT you have to choose wisely, e.g. Rammus on the enemy team, you won't go Thornmail nor Sterak's Gage, you have to build lifesteal and damage.. These are the kind of matchup where you have to know what and when to do.

I would buy a Death's Dance, Guardian Angel and maybe a Wit's End. Because I want to avoid Rammus - if he uses taunt I have too much sustain, therefore I won't die quickly. Even if I did, Guardian Angel saves me and my team can use their wasted summoner spells and abilities on our advantage to win the fight - and get into the backline asap.

Some thoughts on mages and assassins:

1. Facing an enemy team full of assassins is the best team to play against. It requires basic understanding of items tho..
Whenever you face a team e.g. Zed mid, Kha Zix jungle etc. all you have to do is wating for either to jump in on the ADC or maybe you - keep in mind, that you need to have Guardian Angel / Zhonya's Hourglass active! - your team can destroy them.
2. Playing against mages is actually easy in most cases. Long range mages can be hard to deal with e.g. Lux or Xerath
Short range mages are easy to get to, even easier to kill since you only go into a fight with fully stacked Ionian Fervor. Long range mages on the other hand.. You either need a minion wave or a marked target to get to the mage. Hard to kill since 99% of the mages buy Zhonya's Hourglass and it gives the enemy enough time to kill you or force you to Flash.

I'd suggest wait for your team to engage first, so you can go in without the fear of misplaying or dying in the process.
Wit's End is a great item against burst and non-burst mages :) also Spirit Visage and Legend: Bloodline has more impact in these scenarios.

I hope I could help! ^_^
Sorry again for the late answer.

Have a nice day,
kmp
