You made an application in the guide review thread, so here is the review.

It took me a few days to write the review and of course my timing was terrible and you updated the guide halfway through D: (at least, the cheatsheet) . I tried to adjust my review but if there are any references to content you removed/changed in the past few days it’s because of that.

Click for review Cheatsheet and build In my opinion the cheatsheet should entail a quick overview of what runes/items you take in what situations. Your cheatsheet is kind of the opposite of that. It contains an overview of every single item, keystone and summoner you can take. Its like I’m looking at the in-game shop itself: I still have no clue what to build. You already put some kind of structure in it (splitting up AD, AP and tank builds). But you can also put some structure in those categories by making separate blocks for niche items (e.g. healing reduc items + notes when to go one over the others, armor pen items, crit items, lethality items, other niche items). It took me a bit to figure out what FAT 1st meant (Fire at Will, very obviously ._.). I recommend using the block titles to explain what the items within a block are supposed to do/be (e.g. FAT 1st could be something like “standard”). This can make the notes a little shorter (or enable you to leave them out altogether) and gives readers a bit more information without having to hover over notes (which I suspect, not everyone does). Gangplank is featured twice in your threats & synergies, not sure if this is on purpose or not. Also, maybe you could tell your readers not to use Remove Scurvy too early when up against Lissandra. I often bait it out with Ring of Frost and then just use Frozen Tomb afterwards, which results in a very dead Gangplank. I have the inkling that some of the options are more on the meme side of things, maybe you should mark those in some way or give them a separate category… For GP noobies like me :( Pros/Cons The pros & cons are quite good. One remark though: at pros you say “strong early” and at cons you say “struggles in many lanes”. That confuses me, I’d expect a champ that struggles in many lanes to have a weak early. Do you perhaps mean that there are many bad matchups? Abilities A very short breakdown of the abilities. Now, forgive me for being a bit dumb: but don’t you get bonus gold from minions you kill with a barrel triggered by Parrrley? If yes, why don’t you mention that at Powder Keg? I feel like clearing minions such that you can all last-hit them with a single barrel is a quite important mechanic for Gangplank. The ult description is a bit awkward, you mention people playing AP GP for the 10% AP scaling. You should also say that that number is actually PER WAVE. Initially I had a mental disconnect when reading this 10% is very **** for just 1 damage instance. These details aside, I have the idea there is more to be said about Gangplanks abilities. Of course you got a combo section and a small section of tips, but no mentions of important mechanics and how abilities can be used (for example, when/how to utilize passive, specific interactions, how to think about keg placement etc etc; there are probably lots of things out there…). Keystones and runes Now this is an interesting list of runes. This is again a bit hard to comprehend as some of the options are clearly alright, some are clearly meme and the rest are in the gray area in between… Maybe you could make some kind of table/overview at the top to distinguish the more viable from the less viable options. My main concern is that, especially looking at your minor runes, I have no clue what I should take. This is caused by the huge versatility of options. What kind of build would you recommend to a new GP player? When would you take certain primary trees (not just for the keystones; but also for the minor runes!). What is the benefit of some secondary trees over others? Are there certain runes you would run with certain builds? Cosmic Insight does not give ability haste anymore, just item & summoner haste. Also, is Presence of Mind description up-to-date? Since you missed cosmic you might have missed this one too. Building Gangplank Looking at the huge versatility of items in the cheatsheet, this chapter is kind of lacking. I think the items deserve much, much more attention than this. Right now I have a hard time comprehending what you’re trying to say in this chapter. Therefore, a suggestions of what you can do: Begin the section with when to build AD vs AP vs Tank – Give a honorable mention to hybrid builds if necessary. Then do the following Talk about starting items (if they’re universal, if they’re not talk about them in the separate chapters). Give AD, AP and Tank separate chapters and in those chapters: Talk about Sheen, it looks like it is an important item. But it looks like you do not always go it – when do you not build it and why? When do you build it? Talk about different sub-builds, e.g. crit vs lethality (and what items are part of those builds?). Talk about when certain situational items might be useful. Talk about different mythics (why would you go Luden's Tempest over Night Harvester?). Talk about when to go defensive vs offensive items This is just a suggestion - I recommend doing at least something. Right now ight now it’s just a bit too open – a newer/non GP player like me just gets kind of… overwhelmed. Early/Mid/Late game/playing from behind/teamfighting The playing from behind chapter could easily be slotted it the mid/lategame section instead. Same for teamfighting. Ultimately this is all a matter of taste, but I like putting stuff that happens in the early game in the early game chapter, etcetera. AP GP/Conqueror These chapters are quite random. It’s kinda a repetition of earlier chapters (runes) and some limitations to earlier chapters (e.g. less keystones mentioned in the AP build). I’d suggest removing these chapters or moving them back up/reworking them. And again, Cosmic Insight does not offer ability haste anymore. TOP/MID These chapters are also pretty random. To give you an idea why I think so: The usual guide starts with pre-game knowledge like runes, a smattering of items, summoner spells etc. Then it gets into the deep with gameplay info, combo’s matchups etc etc. So kind of a chronological order… It would, in my opinion, make much more sense to have these two chapters near the early game chapter (or even in the early game chapter). Combo’s I absolutely love combo’s! If there are any more, just add them. There are never enough combo’s :D I tried them all and they’re great (I finally can do consistent one-parts, if I ever end up playing GP). GP Tips, Off-meta GP Tips: Me like, but this looks like information that could be put elsewhere (notably items & specific ability tips/tricks). Either way this should be much higher up in the chapter order. Off-Meta: I’m not sure whether this is actually updated (you still mention Twin Shadows in the support part). Presentation This is a guide that shows that you can do a lot without fancy code. Nonetheless I got a few comments. After the runes section you have several chapters with sections & subsections. However it is very hard to distinguish these sections from subsections since all the headers have the same formatting. I recommend to make the formatting of the headers of sections different from the headers of subsections (for example in the same way you formatted the three levels at rune shards). The chapters where you could possibly utilize the above: Items, game phases (if you end up adding more content), matchups, off-meta. Mythics: Although all the mythics fit on my screen it is surprisingly hard to read what they’re for (not to mention that (in your opinion) the best AD mythic, Divine Sunderer, is located at the bottom which doesn’t make any sense to me. If you want to keep this particular format (looking at what I said at items) then I would definitely put the most viable options at the top and the less viable options at the bottom. Combo’s: Can you add spacing rows so that the text don’t hug the gifs? I suspect all these are in tables (if they’re in column, don’t mind this), therefore you can align text/gifs to the top by putting vertical-align=top in the [td] tag. Chapter order: Be careful of the order you put your chapters in. Try to group similar chapters near each others. As you read before I thought some chapters were pretty random - that's mostly because they were in strange places.

Overall it’s a good guide got a guide contest mention too :p. In my opinion the main point of improvement of your guide is increasing the clarity/info on items/different builds. Besides that I’d love to see some more gameplay information. Some things that are very obvious to you might not be so obvious to me & other readers.
