Mathematical formula (with letters) for on-hit aatrox written by albert einstein himself:onhit + aatrox e = funny auto attacks that healTL;DR: Aatrox E passive functions similarly to lifesteal which means you will heal from the On-Hit damage you do which is also icnreased by your R. For most AA based champs they have some way of increasing their Attack Speed but instead you can increase your AD allowing you to stack Attack Speed which gets you more on-hit and passive procs. Aatrox is an AD caster who uses a single ability for damage (not riven i swear) which means he should be building a lot of AD and haste but what if I told you there is a "dark side of the moon" version of Aatrox. Aatrox's passive  Deathbringer Stance is reduced by 2 seconds every auto attack (doubled by rageblade procs) which gives you a little more % damage and healing but that is just the tip of the iceberg. Aatrox's E Umbral Dash has a passive which heals Aatrox for a portion of post-mitigation damage dealt to enemy champions and unlike Rhaast who only heals for damage dealt by abilities, Aatrox heals for all (non-persistent ex. Ingite) damage dealt including on-hit effects. This means that you will heal from the damage that, for an example Blade of the Ruined King does, which gives you some absurd healing and we all know the famous "full build at bork". Even somebody like Aatrox is no exception to this rule and he can just right click and duel a lot of toplaners with this item spike due to insane damage and healing from your E + R.Now the few people reading this will call the closest mental asylum in their area to take care of me because "BUT BUT how will you get through the early game???"?"?!?!$=%" or some other reason which there's plenty of (i don't blame you) but let me explain. Aatrox is probably the best champion in the game regarding scaling per level (from 3 - 9) because when you put points into your Q it's as if you level 3 of some champions' damaging abilities at once. This together with a bit of AD will easily carry you through the early game and once you poke them out you pop ghost press R and let lethal tempo do the job (wow aatrox can actually win some auto attack battles now wtf). Does this mean that onhit aatrox now meta and op? lol no but it is a different way of playing Aatrox for all of those nerds who still miss old aatrox or for people that wanna have fun or even for complete masochists like me who will attempt to climb with this (I WILL NOT BE HELD LIABLE FOR YOUR LP). I won't say that thiis is better or worse than regular aatrox simply because they feel like two different champions and cannot be compared. Regular Aatrox excels at mid-game domination through his AOE damage and tankiness while on-hit Aatrox excels at dueling and scaling (yes you can actually beat fiora and irelia late game and yes if you're asking yourself onhit aatrox can easily beat regular aatrox at most stages of the game). If you still think I am completely insane yes you're probably right but further into the guide I'll show some clips from low masters - low diamond representing onhit Aatrox. Not yet actually but in the near future. |

Lethal Tempo gives a ton of attack speed and bonus range when stacked which helps A LOT. Aatrox already gets a lot of AD from his R so it is more valuable to get as much attack speed as possible. Together with this rune some early game cheesing is also possible since nobody expects Aatrox to beat thim in an aa battle. |

Conqueror provides little to no healing and we don't need more ad so only take it in very rare situations where you can make 0 use out of lethal tempo. |

Triumph's takedown healing can come in clutch in early game skirmishes. However if you want you can take overheal for more scaling. | |

Oldtrox simply doesn't work without tenacity and you're really crippling yourself by not taking Legend: Tenacity. Legend: Bloodline is also good so if they have no CC at all you can take it instead. | |

From my experience Last Stand is better for the early game while Coup de Grace is better for late game as you will often be full health. |

| Even with attack speed Aatrox isn't the best at tower taking so unless you desperately need safety runes take Demolish. | |
|
| For the same reason we take Legend: Tenacity this rune will prevent you from being bursted when cc'd at low health which makes a drastic difference. |

The scaling bonus resistances and 60 AD for such a low price will make you unkillable in a sidelane and they will have to send multiple people to prevent your splitpush. However grouping up with your team will remove your resistances which removes a lot of your power. | |

ON-HIT DPSYour single target DPS as well as healing will be insane and BT passive synergizes with attack speed Aatrox so well as you will be above 50% HP for extended periods of time and your ult gives you more AD based on your current AD. This build is great at both dueling and skirmishing but can always be easily killed by cc if all the tenacity isn't enough. However if you're allowed to do so you will completely shred anyone infront of you while healing for massive amount so this build does wonders when paired with another frontliner such as any tank jungler or support. You can swap out PD with cringebow for more lifesteal + safety but less damage. | |
