I really liked this build! DFG is useless for someone like me who never remembers to use its active (and besides, I don't think I've gotten it to work even once anyway). Archangel's Staff is a good replacement for it, and I haven't seen it as an option in other guides, so I never thought to use it. However, the guide does lack protection for Ahri, who is very squishy late game. I'd recommend Mercury's Treads instead of SorcShoes/Boots of Lucidity, and maybe Athene's Unholy Grail instead of Spirit of the Spectral Wraith. (Ahri isn't a jungler anyway, so most of SSW's benefits are lost!) Using this guide I got my first legendary as Ahri, which was amazing. I don't see why it's gotten such a bad rating, honestly!

No other guide I've seen has had the Archangel's Staff as a core item, so I decided to try it out. The first game I played with it I got five kills and one death, and the second game was 7 kills and 0 deaths. My first legendary as Ahri! The Staff works really well with my playstyle, as does the Lich Bane. Most other guides recommend Deathfire Grasp, which I never remember to use, so having a similar item that's entirely passive is great! I use Mercury's Treads instead of Sorc Shoes or Boots of Lucidity, though, since I find that Ahri is extremely vulnerable to CC like Annie's and Veigar's stun and Malzahar's suppress. The only problem with this guide is that it doesn't offer much in the way of protecting the squishy Ahri, so really, really offensive players might find themselves stuck in a hard CC or group gank and have no way out. To combat that, I recommend Mercury's Treads and Rylai's Crystal Scepter or Abyssal Scepter, and perhaps Athene's Unholy Grail. Those are all really good items on Ahri, and AUG could replace Spirit of the Spectral Wraith, since it offers CDR as well. SSW is intended to be a jungling item, and Ahri is definitely not a jungle character! Therefore, AUG would seem to be a better choice.

Overall though, the guide really helped me figure out my item choices and I'd recommend it to anyone starting out with Ahri!

Her cooldowns are high enough to be ineffective for stacking Tear. She can't spam like Orianna, Ziggs, or Karthus. 7, 5, 12, and 80 are her cooldowns at max rank (respectively). It's going to take a long time to fill it up. I doubt you can actually fill it in a normal game.

And yes, Wraith is cheap. You buy it early-game for that purpose. But WOTA is more effective later on, for your team and yourself. It is almost always good for your team. You should swap Wraith for WOTA late-game.

building tear into archangels doubles the rate it stacks. Not to mention you will have plenty of CDR between blue and wraith and lucidityboots. I normally finish stacking it well before 20 minutes. Also maybe you should read the item it has a 2 skill 4 second cooldown. Aka ahri is just as effective as any other champ with tear just because its rare doesnt mean its ineffective as you say.

And i pretty much agreed with you on the wota for the most part.

And I hope you're selling that Wraith for WOTA later on.

After the recent tear changes it has become far more difficult to stack however her cooldowns arent that high, what are you talking about? Not to mention i said to build it into archangels earlier now in order to stack it faster. Also Spirit of the spectral wraith is incredibly cheap and incredibly effective where as wota doesnt give any benefits other then aoe distribution of ap and spell vamp which may not even be good for your team. spirit of the spectral wraith gives cdr mana regen hp regen gives you extra minion damage for a faster push and back line 1 shot and the spell vamp FOR LESS. Maybe in a 6 item game where you could afford it sure thatd be fine you wont be farming or pushing anyways.

Well honestly most builds are pretty good on Ahri and builds containing Lich Bane are just super op. Also there are a ton of really cool unique things you can do with ahri including incorporating Hextech Gunblade. Theres this really old Ahri build i used to use where youd go 9 hybrid marks start Doran's Blade and build Hextech Gunblade first. Then after wards get Lich Bane. Pretty gimmicky build however you would practically always win the lane. And if you were ahead of your opponent or you needed to gank bot Hextech Gunblade would pretty much get you instakills in conjunction with your ult. It doesnt seem to popular anymore though however i think it could still be decent in certain games and matchups.

Anyways thanks for checking out the guide and being one of like 5 ppl that didnt instantly call it wall of text garbage.

Thank you for taking time to write this detailed answer.
I think Hextech Gunblade becomes more popular since European LCS players like ForellenLord (world's first player in Season 2 who reached 3000 ELO, just btw if you don't know him) used it during the LCS. Because of him I took notice of the item.

Finally, have a nice day again!
