Introduction

Want to play Ahri? This simple guide can show you how, I currently main Ahri, and know a pretty good amount on how to play her. In this guide, I'll be teaching you the basics on how to play Ahri, the Nine-Tailed Fox.

Runes

I'll be going more in depth about the runes here. Domination as your primary rune, as you are a burst mage, and take Electrocute as your keystone, so you can do more damage when you go all in. Take Sudden Impact to help you when you hit level 6, as your ultimate is a dash. The magic pen is very helpful, as it can help you get those early kills. Ahri can take either Zombie Ward or Eyeball Collector, but I personally take Zombie Ward. Zombie Ward can give you more vision, when destroying control wards or when your own ward expires, giving you vision of possible ganks. Eyeball Collector can be helpful if you want more AP, and don't need as much vision. Take Ultimate Hunter for more dashes. The other 2 don't really help on Ahri, and these 2 are much better on her. Ravenous Hunter can give a good amount of health back, and Ultimate Hunter can help you fight more often, as you will have your ultimate up more.
As for your secondary rune, take Sourcery. Transcendence is very helpful on Ahri, as she has very long cooldowns on all of her abilities. Gathering Storm is useful as she performs better later game, and the bonus AP never hurts. Manaflow Band isn't as useful, as you will have more than enough mana after the laning phase, pretty much wasting a valuable rune choice.

Items

Luden's is a very important item for many mages, and Ahri is no exception. Almost always rush this item first, as the extra mana, AP, CDR, and proc effect are very helpful. Buy your level 2 boots after Luden's, the Sorcerer's Shoes. If you see the enemy building lots of MR, go for a Void Staff, if not as much go for a Morellonomicon. Everyone has MR, even without building it, so the 15 magic pen will still be useful, and with the bonus of grievous wounds. Rabadon's is a very good AP item, and will give you lots of AP when done. These next items are the situational ones, I buy different ones depending on the situation. If you have difficulty escaping after going all in, or die a lot, consider buying a Zhonyha's Hourglass. If they have hard CC combo starters, buy a Banshee's Veil. If you find yourself auto attacking a lot, buy a Lich Bane. Once you are full build, you can most likely burst down any squishy on the enemy team.

Pros / Cons

Pros:
Ahri is a pretty good champion during mid game, can easily burst down non-tanks.
She has a pretty basic kit, with only 2 skill shots, and a 3 dash ultimate that can be used either to go in, escape, or both!
Very fun champion (for me anyway), I like the feeling of 1 shotting opponents.
The Q return is true damage, which can be very good at poking in laning phase, Ahri's weakest point.

Cons:
Ahri is very squishy, and can easily be 1 shot herself.
Without her dashes, she is very immobile, and it is pretty hard to team fight without a way out.
If you miss your charm, you won't get the extra 20% damage to them, meaning you probably won't be able to kill them.
Lots of mana consumption during early game.
Very long cooldowns on every ability without CDR.

Summary

That's pretty much it! This guide might be pretty short, but hopefully you understand the basics of how to play Ahri. I'll probably update this guide and put more details in the future, but for now, I hope this guide helped you, and have fun playing Ahri!
