Introduction
For Anivia to work in general I would suggest using smart casting. To smart cast you hold Left shift and press the key to cast ( for example when facing an enemy hit left shift and Q to quickly cast http://edge2.mobafire.com/images/ability/anivia-flash-frost.png[ Frost Flash instead of aiming.
Pros:
- High AP damage
- Strong at farming
- Big help in saving team mates (Frost Flash,Ice wall )
- Good Defense if needed to be.
Cons:
- Mana hog
- Very squishy ( at start especially but you do have the egg )
- Slow even with boots the movement speed is only 370
- Ice wall can work against you, if you are trying to save a team mate from a close running enemy it's very easy to wall off your team mates path leading them to get killed ( works great if you have that one team mate you arnt getting a long with )

Farming with Anivia is extremely easy. After you are level 6 you can just toggle yourGlacial Storm. You much be careful when doing this though as it can eat up mana at a very high rate and I strongly recommend you do not do this until you haveChalice of Harmony and are level 12. Before that you can just use Anivias normal attack to get minions on last hit and the stun does a lot of damage.
To sum everything this build for Anivia works really well but it does require some good aiming skills and the ability to smart cast. You should not have an issue getting kill early with this build if you can trap whoever you are against in a Frost Flash and use the skills as fast as possible you should have no issues. I also suggest always trying to be ahead in levels to get the biggest advantage possible. I personally have not tried to jungle with this build but have never run into a jungling Anivia and don't expect to. If you ever need
At the start of the game you will need mana. Picking up aSapphire Cystal(which you will upgrade later ), A Mana Potion and Health Potion will help you solve this issue early as well as give you more flexibility in the lane if you are going for an early kill.
the next item in the Build is the Sorcerer's Shoes. if you can't afford these and are at the shop just pick up the standard Boots of Speed and come back with an additional 750 gold to upgrade.
Mana Regeneration is next on the list. Chalice of Harmony fits the bill. This will give you mana regeneration depending on how much mana your character has used up. The more missing mana the faster it regenerates ( even better in late game! )
For health and more mana pick up Crystal of the Protector. If you can't afford it try picking up a Ruby Crystal to at least get your health up then upgrading later. A Blasting Wand followed by Rod of Ages will complete this part of the build to give you AP, mana, and health.
The next item is the Rabadon's Deathcap. This is another item where it's great to build as you get the money to. First item you should target is the Blasting Wand then the Needlessly Large Rod unless you can afford the rod first ( no joke intended this is really the name! lol... ) The two will be upgradeable to Rabadon's Deathcap which is a major AP item.
The next item is the Void staff. This is a great item because it is a lot cheaper than most other items and give you AP as well as Magic Penetration. This item should not take long to get at all after Rabadon's Deathcap.
The final item int he build can also be built up to. Deathfire Grasp is a great late game item. It gives more AP, Mana regeneration, and takes 15% off your cool down to cast abilities faster. If you can't afford it right away pick up Fiendish Codex which is a much lower version of Deathfire Grasp but is part of the items build.
