Introduction

Alright this is my first anivia guide ever so any suggestions welcome. Please don't rate me down without giving me a reason as I'll try to work hard to keep this updated.

Yes, I'm amongst those who QQ'd after the anivia nerf, I was quite upset but after testing her out in a couple matches I decided to write this guide. I went 14/3/9 on my first game after the patch. On my 2nd game I went 17/4/12 and did simular in the remaining games.
I wrote this guide to compensate the latest Feb17 update as they made huge changes to anivia. Yes it's crazy her ult requires 200mana to activate now lol.

As much as I hate resulting to play her like Karthus but her Mana just drains way too fast now. We all know she's a very mana dependent Champion and I don't know if Riot will adjust this on the next patch as I see alot of angry comments on Riot's forums so I decided to use this build for now as a temporary solution. It turned out to be great, atleast for me.

Anyways, this is *NOT* a beginner's guide, this is for those who are already familiar with Anivia.

Items

Ok, if you've played anivia after the patch you will know that spamming R is a nono now and that most of the time you'll find yourself useless without mana in team fights early game. So instead of getting ROD first like I usually do, I recommend getting a Ruby Crystal first and just leave it at that. Why? Because you need the mana to stay out there to assist your team but without the ruby crystal you're too squishy. Get your first ArchAngel's and then build RoD next. I use to roll with the CDR shoes too before the patch but now that seeing we can't spam R anymore I'd go back to Magic pen shoes.

Do notice that I only put down 3 arch angels, reason is that 3 AA is enough for mana and that getting the cap last would actually yield more AP than a 4th AA.

Special Note:
1. Doran ring is optional, start off with whatever you like that can build into your next item.

2. I use to roll with Mejai's, but seeing how mana is easily depleted now I would recommend not getting it and go straight for AA.

Masteries

Gotta get Clarity now, I find it impossible to use anivia now without it. Hence why I also put a point into enhanced Clarity. It's great especially if you're laning with someone that uses Mana. I lane with a Lux buddy of mine that also uses clarity. And I tell you it's crazy we own our lane every single time. We just clarity each other and we can stay out there forever.

Farming

Use R to farm now! It cost less mana to leave it on now, when u see a huge creep wave just leave your R on to farm.

Runes

Magic Pen for red. This is a must.
Flat Mana Regen for Yellow, I find this very useful.
CDR or Flat AP for blue. Flat AP is actually awesome early game with the Q+E combo.
and finally for the 3 big ones go AP for the quintesses. You shouldn't need HP or movement speed as you're not even suppose to get hit to be honest :P

Skill Sequence

1 Level in Q at start, level E max asap. And I would recommend only leveling R once @ 6 because it only requires 100 to activate. Leveling R to max too early would hurt your ability in staying out there in team fights. Ofcourse after getting your 2nd AA you can start leveling R again. Level w accordingly depending how good you are with that wall :P
