After doing blue buff you want to immediately go for mid or the closest side near blue and cheese with your level 2 or 3 gank potential. My way I do jungle is do blue by setting 3 boxes and not smiting it. No leash needed. Also after do gromp and wolves will make you ahead at level 3 if you get a leash. While ganking you want to push the laner out and or get a pick.
