Introduction
I have found that this build is great for shaco. It gives him mobility across the screen, the availability to cover invisibility such as Eve about to shadow-walk away or Akali and her Shadow Shroud Ability, and slows them. The Rylais gives you a lot of health and AP, and for me, I tend to not make it past rabadons, so I put what I would have gone for next. If you have seen my previous build, you would see I have Warmog's Armor. I don't in this one because Rylais always seems to provide enough.
I have always been told AP Shaco sucks, and that he should not be played in ranked. I say, I don't care. I would rather be someone familiar rather than try a new character. I have played 5 ranked games, and I am 4 wins and 1 loss as AP shaco. I did pretty well too, with an average of 15 kills, 6.5 deaths, and 20 assists. I would much rather this than 4/11/9 as someone I barely know.
I like these masteries, as it gives you some offensive, but then really helps rack up your AP and magic effectiveness. I thiknk that, given the right amount of cautious gameplay, you can be a positive force in your team. AP Shaco has a lot of possibilities. One of mine was getting 12/1/14. Or 9/0/3. If played with the right runes, masteries, and even the spells, you can really own dominion.
I chose Flash and Clarity. Clarity, for one, helps you stay out of base longer. You can continue to place jacks, throw shiv's, and deceive in and out of places. Flash may seem pointless to you if you think that Shaco already has one built in. Deceive allows you to go invisible and teleport a short distance. But have you ever played and thought to yourself, "Man, I am slowed, have 5 people surrounding me, and I have just used deceive? Well, Flash helps. You may stay slowed, but as long as you aren't stunned, you can decieve over one wall and Flash over the next! Instant escape!
