Overview of this Build

Ashe is very easy to play when you do it right. Just follow a few simple guidelines, and you're ready to kick Ashe!

Ashe is often mistaken for a pure damage output character. Her real beauty is in her frost shot. You gotta max that first. Damage and armor penetration runes make her much stronger early game, which gets kills, which gets gold for items... etc. Health runes keep her survivability up early and late game. Once you know how to use her, the rest is easy!

The Basic Principles:

RULE #1: Stay clear of the bad guys. She's squishy. Hit and back off, and repeat. If they chase, don't be afraid to frost them and then run, either with an auto-attack with your q toggled on or a volley for groups. When your frost-shot is leveled early, they won't be able to keep up the chase, even if you don't have shoes yet.

RULE #2: Frost. Ashe's deadliest skill is her frost shot. Did I mention that??? Many make the mistake of leveling her volley first, then they wonder why they can't finish a kill. Her attack speed matters far less when she's taking a short run, then attacking, then a short run again, etc. You can increase the speed of that process later in the game with a Phantom Dancer or two which increases both her speed and attack speed, but the basic idea to get a kill is keeping them in range with that icy blessing. If your opponents are smart and charge rather than run, you simply chill them out and run yourself. Two or three of these will leave them low on life, and you can finish the kill easily. Worst-case is they recall, but then you get levels on them and own the lane.

RULE #3: Lane with a melee. You can MID (or TOP Twisted Treeline) by yourself, but she's best with a buffer tank or melee to hide behind. Let them take the hits while you deal out damage.

Early Game

Doran's blade? Really? Yes. Really. The damage in this setup starts out at ove 70, with armor penetration keeping it close to true damage. Wait for the right shots to harrass, and the crit makes it awesome. Once they're down to 1/3 or so, turn on your frost and follow them to death :D

WHEN YOU HAVE A FROST SHOT AT LEVEL 2-3 OR HIGHER, YOU DON'T NEED SHOES RIGHT AWAY !!!

Get the boots if you want, but save for the B.F. Sword. When your damage output is that high, they'll run, which means they'll die because your frost shot is on. I used to run her with Attack Speed runes. It's a waste. Ashe's best feature is frost shot and chase. When you make those tiny runs while chasing, your shot cooldown is working, so additional attack speed early on isn't super helpful. Damage is helpful.

Mid-Game

Once you grab a few kills, you'll need to balance your damage and speed, with a favor towards damage. She's a beast when her damage output is high. Grab a bloodthirster, then get a Phantom Dancer for the speed, attack speed, and crit, then go to an Infinity Edge to take advantage of the crit boost.

AVOID PUSHING TOO FAR! - You'll get ganked. Take down the first towers if you can, but don't get too deep. When you're 6-0-2, they'll target you, and kick your Ashe ;)

ALTERNATIVE: You can get a sword of the occult instead of a Bloodthirster if you like. I usually do this when it's obvious I'm much better than my opposition. It'll boost your mid-game even more.

Late Game

Sell your Doran's blade. The second Phantom Dancer and Bloodthirster make her virtually unstoppable unless ganked. You won't often get to finish this build, because you'll be able to push to Victory unless you're stuck with incompetant team mates.

REMEMBER !!!

Frost Shot and chase. Let them push in away from their towers, then harrass, then tun on your Q and go. Use your ULT to stop'em, hurt 'em, then chase to victory.

DAMAGE. - It's what makes her excel.
