Champion Build Guide
First Strike - Feed Me, Seymour!
Hi everyone, and thank you for taking the time to read my guide. This build is intended for people to have fun playing Garen in or out of his usual top lane position. The playstyle best suited for this build is to bait your opposing lane to over-extend and then punish. Which we should be doing as Garen anyway.
This build relies heavily on the Mythic Passive of Tri-Force to stack additional atack speed for more spins. And we know that spin = win. However, it is very easy to fall behind and never catch up. This is about as squishy as Garen ever gets. You will need to rely on teammates to CC your prey to keep them from bursting you right back. But if you get fed? Hoo boy howdy, you melt faces.

The Items
We've established that Trinity Force is the basis for this build. But we have to be able to hit them and do damage. That's where the legendaries come into play.
Start - Cull: All the gold. Otherwise, build a longsword to start toward TF for Hearthbound Axe.
The Collector - 55 AD, 20% crit, 18 Lethality: This is your 2 item power spike. It's also the highest AD crit item you can get for 3k.
Lord Dominik's/Mortal Reminder - 40 AD,20% crit, 30% armor pen: Depending on your opposing team, pick one. Sadly, we can't have both, as they each build from Last Whisper.
Phantom Dancer - 20 AD, 30% AS, 20% crit, 7% MS: This item is part of what lets us chase down our enemies effectively. Those pesky lane minions...
Mercurial Scimitar - 40AD, 20% crit, 50 MR: alternative to PD, the Scimitar builds with QSS and we can break out of CC. The MR is nice too for a bit of survival against AP damage.
Kraken Slayer - 40 AD, 30% AS, 20% crit: Even with the nerf, this is still a very good item. At this point, we want to max our spin count for teamfight AoE.
Black Cleaver - 50 AD, 400 HP, 30 AH: However, if the enemy team has stacked a ton of armor you will want this. 400 HP probably isn't much cushion if you get focused, but it's something.
BOOTS - Zerks or Swifties?
Since we've got the Magical Footwear rune, we save a few hundred gold here. Plus, the extra 10 MS for whatever we build. This is truly a situational build decision. Zerks are great for more spins, but the spins need to hit the target. Plated or Merc are an option too, if you really want a little bit more mitigation.
Other Items
This is by no means a guide that restricts play. I've included other items that can be useful depending on the tides of battle.

Runes
Runes - the entire reason for the way this build works. Yes, Garen is supposed to be a melee sustaion champ. But variety is the spice of life.
First Strike - The centerpiece. Our enemy has made a mistake and we capitalize. Ideally, we are spinning in a clump of minions for even more gold.
Magical Footwear - Hopefully we aren't waiting the full 12 minutes, but the extra 10 MS helps us stick on our foes that much more.
Future's Market - This is a very item-dependent build. The faster we reach full item spikes, the better.
Approach Velocity - your support buddy is important to make this one work, as Garen has no movement impairing abilities.
Eyeball Collection - maximum additional 54 AD. Me like.
Ultimate Hunter - More smiting. "For Demacia!"
Stats - I personally prefer attack speed, AR & MR for a balanced build. Play with it.

Spells
Ghost - Shorter CD than Flash, and more useful anyway. Always take this.
TP - CS and gold is super important to this build, so getting back to lane faster helps a ton.
Exhaust - You can't run away from me :)
Cleanse - If the enemy team has a lot of CC, your Q will only help so much. This + QSS will be very helpful.
