Azir is really unique by his soldier (of course yorick got his owns) because he can interact with them by dashing them and jumping to them. Also azir's ultimate is really good against LB, nidalee and others with needed gap closers (okay, almost every champ got some kinda gap closer). I would personally say that azir is mage/assasin kinda.

Try to farm a lot, everyone knows if you have more creeps, you have more money. If you need to, use sand soldier(s) with you to get the money from the enemy creeps.

What's sure, is that everyone wants to harras their opponent, that's right, but when you harras try to think your mana. Try to push your enemy to their tower and start to throw your soldiers at their tower, try to get it down. When you get CoH with 880 gold you can harras more, if you feel like killing the opponent use your E, but other wise save it as back-up plan.

You can see that i had only flash as a summoner spell, you can pick ignite against mage's, exhaust against assasin's and if you want to, you can take teloport, (if take tp, you can buy distortion to your boots) but think the second as a counter.
