Introduction

Hello, my in-game name is Heelflip and this is my guide to Shyvana jungle. Shyvana, in my opinion, is best suited in the jungle and not top lane because of her kit's synergy with devourer. Hopefully this guide will help anyone who is trying to learn how to play Shyvana.

Runes

Nothing to special here. Armor for defense against the jungle, attack speed for faster clears, and hybrid penetration because Shyvana deals loads of magic damage.

Masteries

Same as with the masteries, nothing too shocking here. Fervor is a great keystone on Shyvana because she is able to reach 8 stacks very quickly with her kit. This can really help her win early trades with the other jungler as well as give her more kill potential when ganking a lane.

Items

If you are going to jungle Shyvana then devourer is a necessity. The attack speed and magic damage synergize with her kit very well. Boots of swiftness are great on Shyvana, especially when combined with her W. Consider swapping to Mercury Treads if the enemy team has a ton of CC/magic damage. Titanic Hydra is a great item for AD off-tanks so consider getting this every game. It will add to your health pool, give faster clearing, increase AD, and offer a free auto-attack reset alongside her Q for some insane burst. BOTRK is also an essential on Shyvana at the moment. Shyvana lacks any really good crowd control so movespeed increases to yourself and movespeed decreases to enemies are great on her. Shyvana benefits from everything BOTRK has to offer. As for defensive items, Spirit Visage, Banshee's Veil, Randuins Omen, and Dead Man's Plate are all good choices.

Skill Sequence

Pretty basic here. Always start W->E->Q and then prioritize maxing R>W>Q>E

Spells

I prefer to take exhaust and smite when jungling Shyvana. Exhaust really helps Shyvana gank since she doesn't have any hard CC. All she can do early on is increase her movespeed so having an ability that slows the enemy is very useful. Also, her R acts as a built in flash. However, exhaust can be swapped for Flash until you become comfortable using her ultimate for its mobility. I wouldn't ever suggest taking ignite. Smite is a must %100 of the time on any jungler.

Pros / Cons

PROS
-fast jungle clears
-mixed damage that is hard to build against
-fast movespeed with W and items so good at roaming quickly
-shreds turrets
CONS
-no hard CC
-can easy be kited if she doesn't get to her target while using her W
-requires exhaust/a teammate with good CC to secure early kills

Red Buff route to gank

Typically, you want to start Krugs for the Heavy Hands bonus. From there, clear Raptors and then Red buff. Doing this will allow you to smite red buff for health. Now, you want to look to gank because you have red buff and exhaust for slowing and securing a kill.

Random Tips/Tricks

1) Shyvana has a good auto-attack reset combo that is similar to Darius. Aa->Q->Hydra
Basically, Q right after your Auto attack lands, then use your hydra right after that. This will GARENtee 4 rapid attacks if you have devourer sated.
2) When clearing Raptors, use your E to mark the smaller monsters and take them out first. 3 small raptors = the damage of 1 large raptor. Prioritizing killing the smaller raptors first decreasing the damage you take from clearing this camp.
3) Your ulti counts as a knock-up so Yasuo can ult using it.
4) Be cautious when playing against champions with knock-backs such as Tristana and Lee Sin. Not only do they counter you by having easy disengages, crowd control that is in the air has weird interactions and can send you as far from 1 turret to the next if it is chained with your dragon ulti.

Champion's to be cautious about picking Shyvana against (and the reasons wh

EZREAL - he's going to make you look like a fool by using his Iceborn Gauntlet to negate all of your bonus movespeed. Even if you do manage to get to him, he will just Arcane Shift away.

TRISTANA - very similar to ezreal, she will either use her ulti to keep you from getting to her or she will just jump away

LEE SIN - he's got the real Dragon's Rage. Every time you try to engage he's going to kick you away.

AZIR/ANIVIA - Walls
