Introduction
Here we picked Spell Pen and Flat AP. The reason for the flat AP is simple. Brand has an impressive early game. We want to capitalize on that as much as possible, and make those early kills easier. Even if you don't get some good early kills, you will harass like a champ. You'll be using your AOE (W) Pillar at level 1. We'll touch more on that later.
Teleport + Clarity.
Clarity - The reason for this is because you will have a pretty low mana pool at 18. It's not necessarily a bad thing. While the build leaves room for changes, like an arch angels staff. You will usually be sticking to the straight forward build or swapping for a void rod. Love the clarity.
Teleport - You want to have good map control, as a team. This will help you do just that. While sprint may be good, teleport is better.
These are just my suggestions, obviously you will do what suits you best.

Start with your Pillar (w). This will give you GREAT lane presence, while being able to push or harass at the same time. Your Q ability you really only need 1 point into at first. While it does pack a punch, you are going to be using it mainly for stunning.
Generally for a gank you will lead with E, then hit Q then lastly hit W and R when able. For a Team fight where high AOE dmg is more vital, try to lead with Q, it will make your E AOE. If for some reason you dont land it, hit your W before your E in order to ensure the extra AOE dmg. It will make a massive difference in a team fight. The team with the quickly dropping health is the first one to scatter and the first one to die.

There will be times when you will need to change some items for others, depending on the team you are fighting. The above item set is a straight forward, one tank, most people not stacking MR build.
When your enemy is stacking MR it is a great idea to drop the Riyals or Soulstealer (i'd drop the SS) and pick up a void rod.
If your mana is running out just way too fast, drop the soulstealer and pick up and archangels.
The options are pretty endless. Keep the core, and swap the Riyals and Soulstealer as needed, to suit your personal preference.
