Caitlyns Storyline
Caitlyn quickly gained notoriety, both because she was single handedly defeating crime in Piltover and also because she soon developed into a ravishing beauty. She never backed down from a case or a challenge, and she was one of the sharpest shots in the city-state. Her services were soon requested by Demacia to help track down a mysterious outlaw who had begun committing high-profile heists. The bandit, who always left a card with an ornate 'C' at the scene of the crime, became Caitlyn's arch-nemesis. To this day, Caitlyn still searches for this cat burglar, and the chase has led her all across Valoran. She has joined the League to hone her skills and gain the influence necessary to track down the only quarry that has managed to evade her.
I built this character based off a spamming mana build. You start by harrassing a lane (or mid) with your pilt peacemaker and this eats your mana pretty quickly. With the range you have you should be able to maintain your health while harrassing and even get a first blood if they come to close.
You want to remember to use your 90 caliber net not only to slow enemies down but to help you get behind them and help you escape by jumping walls or pushing you out of a stun.
Its debatable whether or not to go for sword of the occult right off the bat, but if you can assist your team with some ganks and team fights and build up the stack its a nice mid game boost. Optional to get Doran's Blade first and then late game replace it with a hard hit like Infinity Edge to combign with your crit hits of madreds and phantom dancer.
Remember to best pull your fights 1v1 even trying to pull a player out of a team fight, because you do the most amount of damage when you are able to shoot your ult at one target without someone else getting in the way.
Its a good combo to Pilt Peacemaker, 90 caliber net, and pilt again. This does quite a bit of damage. If you want to slow first hit them with 90 net, but I find that usually puts you out of effective striking range for pilt peacemaker.

I went with a 21/0/9 because its obvious caitlyn is a dps character (could be an ap build in the works at some point). However she is squishy, so why not give her more armor or MR? Because with the amount of damage she puts out she needs the mana to keep it up, so if you dont have the mana regen (also see runes) shes going to get out of the fight to quickly to do effective damage.
Pilt peacemaker is your bread and butter, its an easy farming tool and helps not only harrass but its range can get you that running prick at the last second.
90 caliber net is a nice escape tool, but just know how and when to use it. If used incorrectly it will actually put you outside of your range for your pilt peacemaker so just be aware!!
The Ace In the Hole ult is in my opinion one of the most fun but also most annoying ults in game. They can run, but they'll only die tired. Remember to pick your target away from the group so they cant do a bodyguard bullet take. Its nice for taking out that support player from behind a wall so they dont expect it!

This is a debatable group but you definately want to go with one of the following:
Flash: Get you in and out of a fight if necessary, helps cover the ground after using 90 caliber net
Ghost: all around a good way to chase down those fleeing enemies or get out of an ambush in a hurry
Ignite: I personally like this for early game presence as with a few nice harrasses and this can easily get you first blood
Clarity: This is a possibility for mana regen since Caitlyn is so mana hungry I just prefer something with a little more suprise.
Teleport: since caitlyn is so mana hungry its nice to be able to port home and regain mana and health and then use tele to get back into the fight quickly. I recommend this and ghost for new players who cant yet get ignite
Heal: midly usuable but hopefully you wont have to use it to much since you should outrange most heroes on the field.
Stay away from pretty much all other summoner spells
