It's sorta obvious why I hate him so much, but if you can play it right you can turn his pull into an engage for you (they like hiding next to walls).

Introduction
Start out with Relic Shield. Keep your ADC safe and poke with your passive. Getting the shield really helps out, even if you take a few auto attacks. At level 2, you get your E+Q combo and are free to unleash hell onto your opponents, just stay in the bush or around an angle at which you can knock the squishiest opponent into the wall. Then just hit'em on it and get the stun. Put down your Q and watch their health bar vanish (thunderlords helps with this). Make sure that your ADC knows when you're about to go in and can follow up.
An advanced tip for getting the combo is to land your passive, try to make it bounce near a wall, and bait them in. Then you can land a clean combo.
Don't be afraid to pop your ult in a combo and just knock your opponents up. It helps, and does more damage than you might think.
Also, try not to KS, Poppy isn't the best at carrying with kills. She makes sure that the ADC can carry.

Try to push with your ADC for a bit and when it's teamfight time, try to land a E+Q combo on the most troublesome opponents. You can ult when the enemy team tries to engage and knock their tanks away, letting your team snipe out the squishy carries. Another option is too pop your ult on 3+ people in the teamfight (squishies are best).
Again, try not to KS as Poppy (unless its normals, KS away).

Aside from baiting wall combos with your shield, there's a few tips to make use of.
First off, as a gap closer, you can E into a unit that's not your opponent to catch up in a chase. Also, you can W when Thresh tries to go in on a hook or an enemy tries to use his lantern.
Getting on hit effects with your passive is important, and don't under-estimate its damage.
