Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
This guide is for the deadly burst assassin Talon, and how to use him, in some of the most deadly ways possible!
Why choose an assassin ~
Well, these types of champions are good for taking down the main damage sources like Caitlyn, Ashe, Teemo, ETC. With this build, your goal is to kill them with-in 4-6 shots.
NOTE TO SELF. DON'T FOCUS THE TANK. If you waste all your skills and CC's on the tank, you, and your team will be screwed.
Pros and Cons ~
- Big Damage
- Squishy Murder
- Great Get Away Skills
- Shutdown By Fears & Taunts
For your marks! You should ALWAYS put armor penetration! Without it, you'll not use Talon's damage to it's full potential. Killing the squishy's will be much easier.
For your seals! You can go with 4 seals of alacity, and 5 seals of strength, for early harassing or, you can vice versa if you want to have faster attack speed for better farm early game.
For your glyphs! You NEED criticals, hands down! You'll want them because they really work after you finish your Phantom Dancer and your Infinity Edge!
For your Quintessences! You can bring 2 quintessences of strength, and 1 quintessence of desolation for better early harassing or, you can vice versa if you want to kill those squishy's and penetrate the tanks!
BOOTS (First Priority)
Beserker's Greaves - Attack Speed. Top Choice.
Mercury Treads - Tenacity Rules. *nerd snort*
Blood Thirster - First big item! Life steal needed, bonuses rewarding, buy a second one after full build is done!
Phantom Dancer - Movement speed, attack speed, criticals, which assassin doesn't need one?
Infinity Edge - Done deal, big damage source, big critical chance added. Very rewarding.
Trinity Force - Extra mana, health, attack speed, critical chance, movement speed, not too big, but very helpful and rewarding.
ELIXIRS - Agility and Fortitude, very good buffs, will help a bit with team fights. Oracle's, Teemo, Twitch, Shaco, Evelynn, get on Talon's level.
Noxian Diplomacy: Talon’s next basic attack deals an additional physical damage. If the target is a champion, they will bleed, taking additional physical damage over a period of time and revealing their location for the duration.
Rake: Talon sends out a volley of daggers that then return back to him, dealing physical damage every time it passes through an enemy. Additionally the enemy is slowed for a short duration.
Cutthroat: Talon instantly appears behind his target, silencing them and amplifying his damage against that target.
Shadow Assault (Ultimate): Talon disperses a ring of blades and gains stealth while gaining additional Movement Speed. When Talon emerges from stealth, the blades converge on his location. Every time a blade passes through an enemy, they receive physical damage.
First Skill: Rake (Harassment)
First Max: Noxian Diplomacy (Damage Output)
Last Max: Cutthroat (Blink and Silence, not too important)
Levels 6, 11, 16: Get your ultimate, Shadow Assault.
Use In Situations
Blast your ultimate, Shadow Assault first thing! It'll give you time to make your move on the squishy damage source. Activate Noxian Diplomacy, once close enough, jump on the squishy with Cutthroat. If your blades from Shadow Assault hasn't been activated, it'll do extra damage to get rid of that squishy faster. If the squishy is still alive, finish it off with basic attacks, rake, and if it comes off cooldown fast enough, Noxian Diplomacy.
Start off with activating Noxian Diplomacy, then use Cutthroat when close enough for the silence, before basic attacking with Noxian Diplomacy, use Rake for the slow, which will activate his passive, after use Shadow Assault, run ahead, reactivate it, and finish off the target.
Summoner Spells (Surge Added) ~
USEFUL SUMMONER SPELLS
Flash - Getaways, Initiates, and Secures. Best summoner spell in the game, hands down, but getting nerfed. (Recommended Choice)
Ignite - Finish hims, extra damage, and restricted healing. Really useful, Talon's finish him, but once the other team gets really tanky, quite useless. (Recommended Choice)
Exhaust - Getaways, Chases, and Slowing. Slows the enemy, extra bonus from Talon's passive. (Good Choice)
Ghost - Getaways, Chases, and Secures. Movement Speed increased, great for chasing, use before Talon's Shadow Assault when escaping. (Good Choice)
Cleanse - Getaways and Chases. If slowed in a chase, cleanse, catch right up! If slowed in a escape, cleanse, escape happily. (Good Choice)
Surge - Extra Attack Power. Increased damage buff. Will be useful early game for Talon. (Okay Choice)
Heal - Near Death Experiences. Heals 140 + 20 x level. Longer sustain, last resort in 1v1's, lifesaver. (Okay Choice)
Teleport & Revive Back In The Mix. To get back in the mix of the fight! Alright spell for Talon (Okay Choice)
Clairvoyance Vision, Chases, and Ganks. Used for sighting out ganks, used for chases, locking on to your target, and used to check on enemy junglers. Used by supports, not for assassins. (Not A Recommended Choice)
Note: Rally and Fortify is being removed. Talon is not a jungler.
