Introduction

Hi guys, this is my first build that has been publish, I recently joined MobaFire and I saw some builds of Ezreal, I must say that they are almost all good ( even though some are really weird). I wanted to host my own build and finaly, I decided to share it!

You might notice that there is still things that are missing ( and you might also notice that my english isn't perfect :P), but I will try to update it as often as I can.

If you think that something in my build isn't quite good or useless, don't be afraid to send me a message or to leave a comment that says how I should fix it. I'll change my build to see if what you are telling me could make a better Ezreal or not and then I'll leave you a message to say if yes or no I changed my guide and why I changed it or not.

PLease rate up if you like the build, I will try to spend more time on it, if I can already see that people like it.

Hope you enjoy playing as Ezreal- The Prodigal Explorer!

THIS BUILD ISN'T FINISH YET, I PUBLISH IT SO YOU CAN TAKE A LOOK AT THE ITEMS !
IT WILL TAKE SOME TIME BEFORE I FINISH IT, PLEASE BE PATIENT !

Pros/Cons

Pros:
- He can kill a low health champ across the map while drinking a soda at the spawn
- He can flash for free ( well there is a cd but not very long)
- His dance is freaking sexy :D
- Really fun to play if you get use to him and if you like casting abilities
- Good harass guy and can easily solo a lane

Cons:
- Well he kinda... looks like a girl
- Hard to master (you know it's not easy throwing things around ;P)
- If you miss a low health champion with your ult, then you're in trouble man!
- Can solo mid, but I wouldn't recommend it.
- If you get gank, it's a flash or die situation.

Runes

Ok, for the runes, I recommend armor penetration runes because your Mystic Shot is your main ability and it needs to hit so hard that enemies would just start crying because there is a second one following the first one.

I suggest you take health runes too because, as you can see in my item build, there is only one item that gives you health and it's Trinity Force. Of course, health runes are not a priority because you are always behind your team in teamfights and your not really suppose to get hit by the other champs, your a carry, let the tanks take the damage for you.

Cooldown Reduction runes are also good for your Trueshot Barrage, with the cooldown reduction plus all the Mystic shots that you land on enemy creeps you should be able to use your ult as much as you want, even if you are farming you can still help the other lanes by using your ult on creeps/champs.

Finaly, I took Ability Power runes at level 18, because it greatly increase the damage dealt by Essence Flux and Arcane Shift late game. I think Ability Power is more useful with Ezreal at the end only because you can spam his abilities more often and runes of Abiility Power at level 18 gives you more damage then the ones that gives a flat amount of damage.

Masteries

Ezreal is a carry so he needs to have A LOT of damage, that's why I went on a build 21/0/9.
I don't think I need to explain why I took the masteries in the Offense part, critical damage applies on Mystic Shot so it's good to have lethality, magic penetration for your Essence Flux and Arcane Shift and Havoc for 5% more damage to all your skills.

For the utility, I took Expanded Mind because it will greatly increase your damage due to Manamune and Utility Mastery because Ezreal often runs out of mana. His skills doesn't cost too much and the regeneration that gives the blue buff allows him to continuously cast his Mystic Shot without really losing mana. The blue buff substain 15% longer with Utility Mastery, granting him a cooldown reduction for his Trueshot Barrage and his Arcane Shift ( really useful if you want to avoid being gank because you can flash more often).

Items

This is the longest part of the build and the most meaningful to a good Ezreal because, you are not suppose to take the item I show you without knowing why you are taking them!

First I start off with a Sapphire Crystal and two Health Potions, because Ezreal is a good harasser early game but he quickly runs out of mana and Health Pots because he is a low health champion and he gets often focus. Don't take a mana pot because it will only allows you to fire like three times so it's not worth it, it's better to stay alive then fire three Mystic Shot (even if your having fun shooting these at minions).

IMPORTANT!!! GRAB BOOTS AS SOON AS YOU CAN!!! Ezreal starts with 305 MS and I think it's as much as Karthus. Yes you can flash with Arcane Shift, but early game you can only do it onve per 19 seconds and I don't think you will survive being chase while the cooldown is on.

After buying boots, you buy Tear of the Godess so you can already start building your mana. When you have enough money, go back and buy Manamune for the bonus attack it gives you and the ability to gain mana each time you hit a yordle. You can already go take the blue buff and farm minions on your lane with yourMystic Shot. If Blue Buff is on, try to always cast a spell even if you are looking stupid because you are firing Mystic Shotat a tree ( other than Maokai).

Quoted:
But why should I waste my time on that?

That's not what I call wasting my time, dude! Fire your Mystic Shot while you are walking from the spawn to a lane or from one lane to the other, it will give you more mana because, even if you don't hit an enemy or an ally with Essence Flux, you will still build your mana! More mana = more damage, remember? Plus, with Blue Buff on, your mana will always be at max (at the end I think you have like 400 mana per 5 sec with blue buff).

Be careful not to use all your mana if the buff is about to go off because it won't regenerate!

For the next item on your list, I suggest you take Sheen so you can deal 100% more damage when casting an ability.
Sheen's ability applies on Mystic shot!!! That's why I try to take Sheen as soon as possible because it gives you more damage with Mystic Shot and a little bonus of mana, which can be useful at the beginning.

About Sheen, Robsab (thanks again for your review) told me it would be better to have Sheen before Tear of the Godess, and I must admit that it's worth the damage it gives you early game. Therefore, like I said in the blue buff section, building your mana from the starts gives you a HUGE advantage on your late game build. You can easily get Sheen after you finish building Manamune, if you are farming.

If you want to maximize your Mystic Shot damage, try to finish Tear of the Godess, then take Sheen and finish of with Manamune. You will start building mana from the beginning and you will have Sheen's ability to increase your damage on a spell cast, but be aware that you won't immediatly have the damage Manamune brings you early game.

For the next item, you must make a choice: Pickaxe or Blasting Wand.

-Pickaxe: If you want to have more damage on auto attack, it's better to pick this one first, it eve boost Mystic Shot's attack more then Blasting Wand would so it's good for farming.

-Blasting Wand: If you better save your money( because Pickaxe cost 975 and Blasting Wand cost 860, so you save 115 gold) and you want to make sure your Trueshot Barrage hits hard enough to last hit low-health champs or to defend a lane against a minions' swarm.

I would personnaly recommend Pickaxe, because it's easier to farm with Mystic Shot and, if you farm long enough, you can easily buy Blasting Wand and combine them to obtain Guinsoo's Rageblade.

As you might have notice, Pickaxe and Blasting Wand are use to build Guinsoo's Rageblade. This item is a REALLY great item for an Ezreal build, since he cast so much abilities. It grants him bonus attack speed, and with a high base damage it can provides a good auto attack/ harass on the enemies, and ability power that can be use to empower Mystic Shot, Essence Flux, Arcane Shift and Trueshot Barrage, basicly all his spells.

I had some question on my next item; the Vampiric Scepter.

Here is some questions I was asked and the answer I gave back:

Quoted:
Why do you take lifesteal? I thought Ezreal was a carry, isn't he?

Yes, he is a carry, but lifesteal is important with Ezreal because it works with Mystic Shot, so it's good to have AT LEAST 12% from Vampiric Scepter. Even if he is a carry, sometimes he gets focus or hit in teamfights, so it's good to be able to stay on your lane instead of always returning to base.

Quoted:
Why do you take it so late in the game?

Well, because all my build is base on dealing damage, basicly the job of a carry. I get it late game so I can stay in fight as I deal damage and maybe take some. Plus, the amount of damage you deal early game can provide you health, but not as much as it will give you with Manamune.

If you have other questions about the items, just send me a private message and I will share my answer on this section of the build.

Vampiric Staff can be finish by buying a B.F. Sword and then The Bloodthirstier. This item is also a good item for Ezreal since it gives a bonus damage and lifesteal% each time you kill a minion. You can last hit minion to get up to 40 attack damage plus all the damage you receive from Manamune.

FOR EXAMPLE: If you are dealing 400 damage, 25% of that amount will heal you so you gain 100hp each time you hit a target, plus, Mystic Shot also grants the lifesteal ability. If you are low on health, fire Mystic Shot at whatever is moving and you'll get back your health in no time.

For the next one, I had 4 options that members wanted me to try out. I will describe the item's utility ingame and why I decided to choose that item instead of another.

The items are the followings:

-Rabadon's Deathcap
-Rylai's Crystal Scepter
-The Black Clever
-Youmuu's Ghostblade

Rabadon's Deathcap:
I think this is the best item you can get to have a well balance Hybrid build for Ezreal. Why? Because it's passive allows you to increase your Ability Power by 30%, which is awesome because it gives you 155 more Ability Power. The bonus it will gives you plus the one given by your runes of Ability Power at level 18 will allows your Trushot Barrage to deal almost two times the damage it would normaly do with an other item then Rabadon's Deathcap, such as the next ones on my list.

Don't forget that now with the Patch, Ezreal's Mystic Shot now scales with Ability Power, so Rabadon's Deathcap will help to increase Mystic Shot's damage too, it's not only for Trueshot Barrage that I suggest you take this item.

Rylai's Crystal Scepter:
If I need to classify them from 1 to 4, from the better to the worst, I'd say that he's the second one. Like I explained with the Rabadon's Deathcap , Ability Power is useful for all his spells. The health that Rylai's Crystal Scepter gives him is good too, since he is a low-health champion, but what is the most important thing about this item is the 35% slow that applies on the enemy hit by the spell you cast (15% for multi-target).

This slow allows your allies to quickly jump on the target if you want to take out their champions one at a time, or just to change the odds of a teamfight late game, like 4v5 or something like that ;P. If you are getting gank while defending a lane late game, the slow can also provides you an escape route by using Essence Flux to slow all of them and using Mystic Shot for the fastest. If you can reach the forest with full health, you simply have to Arcane Shift your way to the base.

I think you know it already, but just for a reminder: RYLAI'S CRYSTAL SCEPTER'S SLOW DOES NOT SCALES WITH MYSTIC SHOT!!! Because Mystic Shot is consider as a normal attack ( like Gankplank's Parrrley), but Rylai's slow doesn't stack, kinda weird though.

The Black Clever:
This item is quite good for an Attack Damage Ezreal but, unfortunatly, I'm sharing an Hybrid build, which is base on Ability Power and Attack Damage. In a Full AD build, The Black Clever is useful due to his passive of shreding armor or enemies hit by your normal attack( or your Mystic Shot). Plus, it gives AD and a little attack speed.

The effect of The Black Clever not only benefits you because the damage you deal is increase, it benefits your allies too; everyone deals more damage on the target, that's why so many people build their Ezreal with The Black Clever.

I wouldn't recommend it because, since the latest Patch, Ezreal needs more AP so he can deal more damage. Remember that an Hybrid build grants you more damage with spell cast then an Full AD build would, Full AD only increase your auto-attack and our Mystic Shot(which isn't bad, but it's mostly for harassing)

Youmuu's Ghostblade:
This is another item that someone told me to try. I used it in 5-6 games and I lost 3 of them. Why? Well, only because Youmuu's Ghostblade is a great item... for a melee. The cooldown reduction is good with all your spell, but boots and blue buff is enough to keep your 40% cooldown reduction. The good part of Youmuu's Ghostblade is the 20 armor penetration and the 30 bonus damage, but you can get better items for your build, Rabadon's Deathcap gives to your spell more damage then... the weapon I'm talking about! God, I hate saying that weapon's name!!! (That's another reason why I hate this item!)

THIS IS THE LAST ITEM ON YOUR LIST!!! (Yeah I know it took a long time explaining all my build)

Of course, I'm talking about Trinity Force! I LOVE THIS ITEM! I strongly recommend Trinity Force for two reason:

1.Finish Sheen by granting you more of everything (good for an Hybrid build);

2.It grants you more movement speed and allows you to chase/escape with more efficiency

Quoted:
Yeah Kingo, you're right(I know!), but what about Lich Bane, it gives movement speed too, with a little more mana and Ability Power! So how is Trinty Force better then Lich Bane?

I agree, but Trinity Force allows you to be more balance with Ezreal. Let me explain:

Trinity Force:
+30 Attack Damage
+30 Ability Power
+30% Attack Speed
+15% Critical Strike
+12% Movement Speed
+250 Health
+250 Mana

Passive

UNIQUE: 25% chance on hit to slow the
target by 35% for 2.5 seconds; on cast,
adds bonus damage equal to 150% of base damage

Lich Bane:
+350 Mana
+80 Ability Power
+30 Magic Resistance
+7% Movement Speed

Passive

UNIQUE: When you use an ability, your next physical attack will then deal an additional 100% of your Ability Power in damage. This effect has a 2 second cooldown.

Trinity Force
gives 100 less mana; 50 less Ability Power; 30 less Magic Resist then Lich Bane.
Lich Bane gives 250 less Health; 5% less Movement speed; 15% less Critical Chance; 30% less Attack Speed; 30 less damage and you don't have Phage's ability.

Taking Lich Bane or Trinity Force will always depend on the game you are currently playing. This is a Hybrid build, so I will prefer taking Trinity Force, but if you think the passive of Lich Bane would be better in the game you are currently playing, take Lich Bane as soon as you can! Remember, you have as much Attack Damage then Ability Power (maybe a little more Attack Damage) in an Hybrid build, so 150% of your Attack damage is less then your Ability Power and your Attack Damage combined. This is the only good reason why you should get Lich Bane instead of Trinity Force, according to me.
