Introduction

This Shen build has worked well for me. Take heed to the following: I know that Shen is supposed to be a Tank. There, now that that is out of the way, allow me to give you the reasons for my choice of Shen build. Shen has some great ways to stay alive. What is the ONE issue with the best Champions in LoL that are for damage output?

Exactly. They are too squishy, and die extremely quickly versus other damage oriented champions, and sometimes their tanks. Shen is not this way. His dash lets him get away, flash if needed, and heal. THEN if needed, he has his shield, and while he attacks, he can be healing ever so slightly (THE AMOUNT THAT MATTERS) with . He is extremely resilient, and his thornmail at first throws off the enemies when they see your build at first.

Runes

Honestly, Despite Shen's massive Damage Output in this build, he needs more! (When is there ever enough?)

Magic pen, and the sort help for getting your vorpal blade through, and the cooldown reduction helps you cast it more, and shield/dash more.

Masteries

Honestly, as previously stated, every bit counts. The heal cool-down reduction can save you, and you might not notice because you don't look until you need it. The Dodge chance can really help too, if you choose over . I do this quite frequently, because often there are mutliple ranged physical damage dealers, and I don't feel like dying as quick, if I do at all.

Items

With Vorpal blade/Hextech GB combo, you will heal right away, and over time, and deal more damage. What more can you want?

Spirit Visage ups the healing from Vorpal blade, and the magic Resist helps a lot.

Everything else basically speaks for itself.

Skill Sequence

Always get first. You want to be able to escape if needed, and your shield is an obvious necessity for fighting. Not taking as much damage...why not? Ultimate use for getting into fights where your teammate is losing just as any other Shen build.....dash and shield right after for your ally to get away.
-Give yourself a heal. make sure to hit enemy champs if possible when u need to damage them, not a huge deal to heal, might as well hurt em!
-use for running only, it takes a lot of energy, which could be used elsewhere
use only if taking damage, should be used in conjunction with the skill

-use to aid in ganking, or as intended, saving. (Which could possibly render a kill for you depending on build at the time)

-level this to higher levels last, if you are running, why do you want the enemy to attack you?

Tips and Tricks with
Feint is the perfect skill to block tower hits!
After using it's most wisely to use your since you will pull the aggro and so taking the damage on you!
General Tips and Tricks

Summoner Spells

Heal is basically for cheap wins so you can get money faster....and is so that you can either dash twice, or dash without taunting. You might switch for . If so, take the archmage's savvy down to 0 points in the masteries, add one for cripple, and two to dodge chance.

Pros/Cons

Pros-
High damage early and mid game
resilient throughout entire game
Always a way out
fool enemies into disregarding you for being labeled a tank

Cons-
weak vs magic (lots of casters replace Thornmail with Aegis)

Summary

Basically, this Shen build has worked phenomenally for me time and time again. This, I hope, will help you in your endeavors to master your use and feel for Shen as a damage dealer. Hope this helps you!
