Introduction
My summoner name is Viperzz. Sorry for my bad english but it should be understandable.
I play Garen extremely aggresive early game, but durability late game. This way you can dominate your top lane, while dealing damage overtime.
Like every ranked game my teammates are flaming on me because I buy a bf sword. While the funy thing is, that 2 minutes later i kill my enemy, and they say like: #1 garen. But serious, In my opinion The Bloodthirster is a very good pick for garen, it powers you Jugement and Desisive Strike, you have a fast farm and you own every possible enemy solo top. Boots of Swiftness because you can get away quickly, and chase your enemies with your Q activated. It will give you around 450 movement speed, that will be enough don't you think ^.^ Futher on I build tanky with a lot of Health. Frozen Mallet is just the best item in my eyes for Garen. It slows your enemy every basic attack. So you can walk behind them, hit them eacht 3 steps and laugh at them when they die. The last item can be a guardians angel if you are being focused, with a good ad range on the opposite team a thornmail will be nice. If you are to slow and you think you are tanky enough, you can go for Youmuu's Ghostblade.
Flash and Exhaust: I should really, really, really recommend Flash and Exhaust. Exhaust is really usefull when you want to kill your enemy at solo top. Just walk to the minions, as soon he comes in your range TSJAKKA! exhaust the dude, if necassary flash to him, Silence him, and spin 2 win!
Ghost: Ghost can be usefall in chasing your enemy, you could also use it 1v1. Just exhaust and run to him with Ghost.
Ignite: I really hate ignite, it deals like what, 200 true damage, like that is going to hurt someone. I never grab kills with ignite like I do with Exhaust. Just don't use Ignite...
Teleport: Garen doesn't need Teleport that much. He has no mana and his passive makes him regen Health very quickly.
Early game: Just last hit minions. Don't use your E on minions, because you will push if you do it. When you push you can't kill enemies, when you can't kill enemies you can't get fed, when you can't get fed you will suck. Just last hitting will be enough. As soon the enemy champion comes close to your minions, silence him with your Q and spin2win with your E behind him. He will lose 40% of his Health by just 1 combo. Once you reach lvl 6 you can use your combo with Exhaust and finish him off with your Ultimate. NOTE: only use your ultimate on champions with low Health, it will deal more damage. NOTE2: only use your last combo when the enemy champion is below 60% hp. Otherwise there is a chance he will get away with like 10 health left, we don't want that ofcourse.. Mid game is all about farming, make sure to get lvl 18 first. This way you should have around 200 minions kills in 30 minutes. Farm, Farm, Farm. I prefer ganking as soon as you have your Frozen Mallet. This way you are tanky enough to get some damage, while killing the enemies. Late game: Once you get to late game you should have your Atma's Impaler. This will give you a boost of damage and the enemy will go auto-surrender. If they don't. Get your Guardian's Angel and go 1v2, I can assure you, if you are fed, you will make it with 2000hp left.
