As for items, I believe the Doran's Ring start is very good as it provides mana regeneration to help you keep poking with your barrels since Drunken Rage isn't always enough. Also, perhaps you can consider buying Sorc Boots and then selling them for different ones after you build Void Staff. I usually do and buy Merc Treads or Ionian Boots of Lucidity.
Also, perhaps you can add tips and suggestions on all of his abilities that separate the good Gragas players from the great ones. Giving good combos can help people a lot. For example:
-For Gragas' passive, be sure to let the timer run all the way out before using his next ability to maximize the heal.
-For Barrel Roll, if you miss it don't be afraid to let it sit there as you never know what can walk in to it. Leaving it can also zone your opponent. Also, when you go in to body slam, use it as it decreases their attack speed. Barrel Roll can go through walls too.
-For Drunken Rage, watch out for the channel time, as you can get harassed while you use it. You can also decrease the animation by using it while you are rapidly clicking to move.
-Body Slam can be used to dash through walls. It also does more damage while Drunken Rage is up. The timer for Body Slam is decreased if you hit something, making it a good clean up skill after team fights. Also be careful when using it to escape because it ends when you hit an enemy. You might also mention Body Slam's length can be adjusted, letting you dash different distances.
-You can talk about securing kills with Explosive Cask too, it's range is deceptively long and can let you kill a retreating opponent in lane.
Some useful combos:
q-r-e-q is the basic burst combo, adding ignite and some aa's to increase damage.
Flash+Body Slam is deadly to running opponents and a great escape tool too.
Using q+r can steal Baron/Dragon really easily.
If you need to initiate a fight, using Body Slam in the middle of the opposing team will slow them and the immediately using Zhonya's will let your team do a ton of damage. You can help clean up the fight afterwards too.
You might also mention some other tips, such as if you're being turret dived, don't be afraid to Body Slam and Barrel Roll, as your damage is deceptively strong. Also, you might mention that using Barrel Roll to farm is okay, and that is how you will get most of your cs due to you being melee. I also find it useful to mention holding off on leveling an ability until you need it at level 1. If you are invading or being invaded in the jungle, it may be better to level Body Slam first to secure a kill.
I hope this helped and thank you for the guide!
I would like to see something about lane match-ups and you could be more in-depth about late game teamfights (for example do you want to keep distance and wait for Barrel Roll? or do you want to go in and hit them with auto-attacks making you something of a frontline).
Also you might want to add some more coding and really "spam" the {{itemname}}/{{championname}}
otherwise your text is like a wall and kind of difficult to read. (read difficult as not interesting)
Thanks for the suggestion! I will work to remedy the mistakes. As far as the bbcode , I have done it with pretty much every item, or champion name, but I will look over it again to make sure I did not miss anything. I completely agree with comment about having to be more in-depth about late. And like I said, lane matchups coming soon :)

Everyone, LISTEN UP this guide works! i tried my first match ever with Gragas today against Veigar and i shut him down! i was so fed by the end of laning phase thanks to these awesome tips! upvote? I think so!! :P
Aha, glad you liked the guide! I suggest to keep tweaking the build with the items I gave you and see what works for you!
first its called standard, not stanndard ^^ second, i think that your cheatsheet is quite messy, try to get it more clean and not just throw every item you can think of in there. you should also imo never rush zhonyas since then youll be oom all the time ^^ i also think that armor seals are better than scaling health, even when going against ap opponents. they mitigate autoattack damage, minion damage, turret aggro and damage from their jungler. the guide is ok and i like your attitude, take my upvote
Thanks alot man, I really appreciate it. I will change the typo :D. Also, I will work on organizing my cheatsheeet to make it easier to follow! I see what you are saying about the armor runes, and I will try it out. I personally like the HP runes, because while its not alot, it does synergize well with your passive, which is surprisingly strong. I also see your point with rushing zhonya's, but as I stated in the guide, I do not find problems with mana on Gragas, because I feel Drunken Rage is plenty for mana regen. Also, I said to pick up a archangels or rod if you are finding mana problems. Thanks alot for all your suggestions, I gave you a +rep.

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll add in the notes for Liandry's Torment and why I think it should be there. I feel dorans ring is a good start on grag because of the ap and small bit of hp it gives. now that u also can get 2 hp pots on it I feel like it is the strongest start. Twin shadows is an option for offensive items. I dont know if you mistyped it or what but u said you agreed with me so... also, I know it is more dmg overall with the masteries, but I explained in the guide why I believe ad mastery is better for gragas. Its just my opinion and I am telling you guys how i play gragas and how i found my success. as far as the guide not looking nice, it is my first time, didnt want to add too much. felt the guide was supposed to be informational so I focused on that, I will try to make the guide look better though.
Fixed my typos. I believe Twin Shadows is not offensive. Not every item that boots your damage is offensive. For example look at Mercurial Scimitar. Gives lots of AD, but is a defensive item. Its up to you, it doesn't matter to me. But that's just what I believe.
