Yeah the info in this is directed at Top Lane builds. I feel like Wukong has the potential to snowball really hard early game as a Mid Laner. He can get early kills, apply early invade pressure, and roam very effectively with his strong CC + Damage Ult. In my opinion, Wukong only needs a certain amount of damage items though. Even without building 5 DPS Items you can still 100 - 0 enemy carries. Because his Ultimate is a DoT mechanic, you have to make sure that you will survive diving into the enemy lines to fully utilize it. If I have enough damage to kill priority targets, my next objective in itemization is to stay alive for a longer duration. Wukong has low CD's on his abilities and does a lot of damage from Auto-Attacking due to high AD and an AS steroid. These factors mean that the longer I stay alive, the more damage I will deal. AP Nuke Mages build full damage because they need to hit as hard as they can during a 1-5 second window and then can't do anything until their CDs return. Ranged AD Carries can build full damage because of their long range, their repositioning tools, their kiting capabilities, and the fact that their team is usually peeling for them. Bruisers / AD Melee champions are different from Nuke Mages though because Auto-Attacks keep them relevant even when their abilities are on CD and they also tend to have shorter CDs on their abilities. They are also different from ranged champions because aside from doing damage and putting out CC they are also responsible for holding appropriate aggro and tanking damage when necessary. Generally, I will do MORE DAMAGE by simply staying alive longer and putting out continuous DPS than if I build full damage but can't stay alive as long. I especially do not feel the need to continue itemizing offensively if I can already secure kills on enemy carries without doing so.

I agree with you. But what do you think on a more carry oriented Wukong?

I usually pick him mid lane. When I do that, I level up Nimbus Strike first, taking 2 points on Crushing Blow to have the same CD on both spells. Like that, the burst damage against the enemy mid laner is really good, you can 2 combos to kill him. And thanks to decoy and the s juke, you an run away from ganks easlily.

So like this I go for a Bloodthirster, Black Cleaver, Last Whisper, Warmog's Armor and Guardian Angel. Many times, because I can dodge the enemy skills with decoy, I start with Rejuvenation Bead, sight ward and pots, so then I can go for a Ravenous Hydra to push the lane and start roaming. And I take 21-6-3 maesteries, when the 3 points in utility I put em on Mana Regen.

I know this is your top repository, and actually I always run an offtank Wukong in that case, but when I go to mid lane I like to take a more carry oriented build.

What do you think?
