One of the reasons Piltover is known as the City of Progress is because it has an extraordinarily low crime rate. This hasn't always been the case; brigands and thieves of all sorts used to find the city-state an ideal mark for plunder, primarily due to the valuable resources it imports to fuel its techmaturgical research. Some even theorize that it would have fallen long ago to the chaos of organized crime if not for Caitlyn, the Sheriff of Piltover. Born the daughter of a wealthy statesman and a pioneering hextech researcher, Caitlyn discovered her natural gift for investigation when, at age 14, her father was assaulted and robbed on his way home. She snuck out of her house that night with her father's rifle and tracked down the muggers from the crime scene. At first, her parents did their best to discourage her from such risky hobbies, but she was incorrigible. Wishing to protect her daughter in the only way she knew how, Caitlyn's mother began outfitting her with techmaturgical devices tailored to her sleuthing needs.

Caitlyn quickly gained notoriety, both because she was single handedly defeating crime in Piltover and also because she soon developed into a ravishing beauty. She never backed down from a case or a challenge, and she was one of the sharpest shots in the city-state. Her services were soon requested by Demacia to help track down a mysterious outlaw who had begun committing high-profile heists. The bandit, who always left a card with an ornate 'C' at the scene of the crime, became Caitlyn's arch-nemesis. To this day, Caitlyn still searches for this cat burglar, and the chase has led her all across Valoran. She has joined the League to hone her skills and gain the influence necessary to track down the only quarry that has managed to evade her.

I would like to start this build by saying that Caitlyn has an awesome harassment system, so if you don't like to harass you must play another champion.
In this build i will just tell you guyz how i play Caitlyn, so ill only be talking about what i do.

Health: 390 (+80 / per level)
Mana: 255 (+35 / per level)
Damage: 47 (+3 / per level)
Move Speed: 305
Armor: 13 (+3.5 / per level)
Magic Resist: 30 (+0 / per level)
Health Regen: 0.95 (+0.11 / per level)
Mana Regen: 0.8 (+0.07 / per level)

Pros:

- Awesome early game harass
- Very long range
- Great damage dealer
- Easy to farm (great damage makes easy to last hit minions, also piltover skill deals high amount of damage on minions)
- Excellent escape mechanism (90 Caliber Net and traps) *also works to protect allys, 90 caliber does great debuff on movement speed and traps immobilize champions*
- Take down squishy champions fast (In my opinion this is great on wars)
- Playable every lane
- With such long range ulti you can easly get your kill when u hit lvl 6

Cons:

- Squishy, dies realy fast in wars if focused
- Mana goes away too fast
- Ultimate can be blocked by enemy champions

The Summoner Spells i use are, Flash and Ghost.

Why Flash and Ghost?

Like mentioned before, Caitlyn is very squishy and no matter what lane you are if you get gank'd you will be just too eas

Flash:

Teleports your champions to cursor's location.

This is very usefull while playing Caitlyn. Normaly when i play Caitlyn i go mid lane, and mid lane in early game is the focus of ganks. So Flash and her skill "90 Caliber Net" combo is just an awesome escape mechanism.

Ghost:

Your champion ignores unit collision and moves 27% faster for 10 seconds.

Personal opinion: This is just usefull as flash, in case you flash and still they can catch you, you bomb ghost and run away. (also with "90 Caliber Net" combo)

In my opinion Caitlyn is a Mid lane champion but also works on other lanes but not so effective.

While on mid lane you must try to Last hit all possible minions. Every 8 atacks you must try to hit the enemy Mid lane champion without death risk ofc. That will make him pot like hell, make sure you keep the harass when he doesnt carry any pots. If you see that he's a bit noob you'll probably get your kill fast, otherwise with Caitlyn you can just continue harassing and then ultimate when he's running.

While laning with a teammate: Running into bushes to harass is great! Make sure you last hit all minions you can (you can share minions with your mate, just kill the ranged ones first)

Dont forget to buy many wards to protect yourself while solo laning. You probably gonna get gank'd many times.

*WARDS ARE IMPORTANT*

Caitlyn has awesome gank skills (huge range ultimate also)

If you see that there's an enemy with low hp in other lanes and he refuses to go back, you can just gank him with your allys' help. Sometimes you can just ultimate from huge distance and get the kill, and sometimes not. Thats up to you to calculate damage/distance.
