Disadvantages
-Squishiness
-Skillshot Reliance
-Mana Dependency
-Limited Mobility
Success with Hwei often comes down to a player's ability to capitalize on his strengths while mitigating his weaknesses.
Arcane Comet adds extra poke damage upon successfully landing an ability in the lane. It provides consistently reliable damage, though opponents can attempt to dodge by moving or dashing.
Manaflow Band generates maximum mana throughout the laning phase and, upon reaching full stacks, offers mana regeneration. It serves as a crucial method to prevent mana depletion after your initial recall in the lane.
Transcendence a lot of ability haste was taken off items in Season 2024, so transcendence is even more neccessary.
Scorch proves more effective when the average game duration is shorter, making it a preferable choice over Gathering Storm.
INSPIRATION
Biscuit Delivery having a bit more kick in your laning phase can help tremendously.
Cosmic Insight is insane with Hwei!
Place wards strategically to avoid enemy ganks. Hwei lacks mobility. Consider purchasing a control ward on your early backs.
Hwei can be mana-hungry, especially in the early game. Be mindful of your mana pool and use abilities judiciously.
Hwei has good roaming potential, especially when his Spiraling Despair becomes available. If the opportunity arises, push the wave and look for opportunities to roam to other lanes.
Plan your recalls based on your gold and item breakpoints. Hwei benefits from items that enhance her ability power and mana pool.
Remember that Hwei's early game strength lies in his ability to poke and control the lane. Adapt your playstyle based on the specific matchup.
Assist your jungler in securing objectives like the Dragon or Rift Herald. Hwei's crowd control and burst damage can be valuable in securing or contesting these objectives.
Position yourself at the backline during teamfights. Hwei is a squishy mage, and positioning is crucial to avoid being caught out by assassins or divers.
Use your long-range abilities to poke down opponents before a full engagement.
Utilize your Subject: Serenity to shield allies and mitigate incoming damage. Timing your shield well can be crucial in keeping your team alive during teamfights.
Save Spiraling Despair for key moments in teamfights. Look for opportunities to hit multiple enemies with Spiraling Despair.
Remember, Hwei excels at providing burst damage and crowd control, but positioning and decision-making are crucial for success. Adapt your playstyle based on the flow of the game, and be responsive to the needs of your team during the midgame and teamfight phases.
