Introduction

Hey guys. I've been playing a lot of games as Lee Sin, and realized how to play him effectively. I hope by reading this guide you understand Lee better, and know how to play as him efficiently. I played Lee Sin as my go-to guy on ranked games, and pull off crazy games as him, going flawless or carrying the team. In my opinion, a jungler can make or break a team. With this guide, I hope you'll carry the team. :3 Have fun on my first guide :D

EDIT: I'll be working on this so it will be more indepth. It'll be updated weekly (hopefully) :D

Skills

Skills

Lee Sin is a very complex jungler, but the most effective. You Should max out you q first (it is a early game nuke. It can help when fighting golems, and if you aim carefully, can do high damage to wolves and wraiths)

Sonic Wave- This is Lee Sin's bread and butter. This is what makes him a boss. So, here's how you use it effectively. Max it out first. This is a huge early game nuke and does the most damage in your skill set. Let's say someone counter jungled you, and you see them in your jungle. Go into a fight with them, and if you're q is pretty high leveled, don't be afraid to rush it. What I like to do is, engage a fight with a Sonic Wave into Resonating Strike because of how much damage you do. If this is early game, where the fight depends on skill and strategy, you use your passive to it's highest effect. Your passive will help you in a fight. But also remember, that resonating strike does +8% of their health missing. So Sonic Wave and then do some damage and then Resonating Strike. This will do the most damage.

Safeguard / Iron Will- This is a pretty standard escape spell combined with a good jungling spell. Most guides level this up first, but I don't like to. I find leveling up your tempest to be more useful in ganks than a Safeguard. A high leveled Safeguard, however, can help you jungle more efficiently than Tempest, but Tempest helps better in team fights.

Tempest- I love tempest. It helps you jungle, because it slows their attack speed, and it helps in ganks a lot. It may not be as good after all the nerfs, but still is a spell to level up 2nd. I level up this after leveling up my Sonic Wave. Sometimes, if you gank (Read "How to Gank" Chapter) you can walk in with a tempest (I've seen the Odd One do this a lot) and then Sonic Wave + Resonating Strike.

Dragon's Rage- :D :D :D This is my favorite ultimate in the game. To other's it might seem like a bland, unoriginal ultimate, but it's a versatile ultimate. If your team is running away, you can help them escape by landing a quick Dragon's Rage. This is also a huge help in a team fight. It knocks them up, not allowing them to do any damage to you. Essentially making you invulnerable during that time. It can hit multiple people. Here's what you gotta do though. If they are running away, never make this mistake. Kicking them away, helping them escape. Wait till they have extremely low health.

To deal the Most damage + Dragon's Rage You gotta do this...

Safeguard / Iron Will --> Iron Will--> Sonic Wave --> Dragon's Rage --> Resonating Strike --> Tempest --> Cripple

Runes

Runes

I picked these many reasons. I love flat out runes, because although they are simple, they are versatile. I go flat out damage, armor, because it helps me jungle more than I do if I get something along the lines of armor penetration or armor at lvl 18. If I were Lane Sin, then I would definitely get armor pen, but since I'm jungling, I get flat out.

Masteries

Mastery Pages

Armor masteries are more helpful to the team, let's just put it at that. A tanky Lee Sin is better than an AD Assassin Lee, which is what I used to go. The problem with assassin Lee, is that it falls apart late game. Your ability to fight other people declines over time. If you build him a tanky bruiser, you'll see better results early game and late game. I chose movement speed for 2 reasons. A. Not enough points to get to the next one.... >:( And B. Speed is always good with jungling. :D I find most of the other mastery points self explainable. +30 Health is always good. I get +1 Damage, and deal 2 extra damage to minions because it helps jungle better than +3 damage. You don't have to go this entire build completely though. Choose whatever mastery page works best for you.

Items

Items

This is the item set I normally go. But remember, DON'T FOLLOW THIS GUIDE COMPLETELY! PLEASE! Change this build to the team your battling.

Heavy AP TEAM: Maw of Malmortious, Force of Nature, Banshee's Veil, Aegis of the Legion, these are pretty good items when dealing with a ap team.

Heavy AD TEAM: Randuin's Omen, Warmog's Armor or Frozen Mallet, Frozen Heart (eh, let your actual tank get this, but if he doesn't, get this), If it is a heavy ad team, go full armor. You'll help your team more if you do so.

Lots of CC: Mercury Treads is enough, Ironically. With a pretty tanky Lee Sin, you can get out of fights and back into fights rather easily. So you'll find it hard to die as often.

Summoner Spells

Summoner Spells

Normally I go flash and smite, but here are some viable spells.

EXHAUST: VERY GOOD! :D Get this if you don't want flash. In my opinion, it's better than flash, but I get flash just so I can escape. (If you get exhaust, buy some wards, so you can safeguard to them for escape when necessary)

GHOST: I love Ghost. But eh. I dunno. This is a toughie. If you don't want flash, Ghost is pretty good, but it's not the best. If you're chasing someone after a gank, flash is better overall, but if ghost is your thing, go for it.

The other spells are iffy or ABSOLUTELY NO.

How to Gank

How to Gank

Ganking is a skill junglers must have. Here is how you do it.

Walk through 2 options.
A. Through the grass on the river, if they have pushed or in the act of pushing, or in a fight. Most ganks happen through here.
B. Go through the bush near your tower, and sneak into the bush, and ask your teamates to force a fight. This won't work all the time, and isn't as effective as A, but works from time to time.

When you go through the bush, use your tempest (e) as fast as you can and slow them. Q them, but wait a little bit before you follow it through with the 2nd part. IF you are in a hurry to kill them, resonating strike them immediately. But if you hold out on the q, it can secure a kill for you (or kill steal :3).

With B. this is pretty easy. While you're in the bush and they fight. Go in with a safeguard to your adc, and resonating strike followed by a tempest. It sounds complicated, but it's pretty simple. IF they don't flash, you've probably killed them :D

If you see your team falling apart during the laning phase, babysit a lane until they can handle it on their own. For Midlane, it's tough. If you want to gank, ask your mid player to either stun them (Like Twisted Fate or someone like that, or engage into a fight, and do the w to your mid, q to the enemy, e (2 times very quickly) and follow it up with the 2nd part of rresonating strike. It takes a lot of time to master ganking, but you'll get the hang of it soon.

Farming

Lee Sin always needs money. Whenever you see a lane that is alone and has minions pushed, don't be shy to take it. Take minions whenever. But don't become too focused on the minions. Your team might go into a fight without you while you are farming. Be sure to notify your teamates when you are jungling. Remember, you initiate fights!

The Jungle is yours! But don't be afraid to share it. Never take blue for yourself. Always give it to your mid, or adc. If a support or top lane asks to take it, let them. Whenever you can though, give your red to the adc.

Team Work

Don't be afraid to die first. I mean, try not to, hehe, but if you die first, it's better than an ADC dying. Your team will rely on you to initiate a fight. If a teammate (ADC are top priority. Keep them alive. Supports and Tanks. Eh, help them escape if matters get out of hand)is running away unsuccessfully, jump in and tempest them. Put your team over yourself. If in a fight, you're Tempest + Randuin's Omen is very helpful in a fight. You already "Crippled" them (see what I did there (>^-^)>) Anyways, you're the big man of the group. Keep your teammates alive, and do what it takes to make sure they get out of there safely.

Conclusion

Lee Sin is probably the most versatile jungler in the game, and the most helpful. Late game, I feel like this build will work most effectively, and is a good overall. In a team fight, you are the team's go - to guy, they guy they rely on. ADC are top priority. IF they don't have guardian angel, do everything in your power to keep them safe, while still participating in the fight. Farming is a toughy. Notify your team that you are farming whenever you are doing so, because some players are oblivious and will engage into a 4v5 without you. Good Luck and Have fun with this Lee Sin Build! I also give thanks to Jhoi Jhoi for lots of tricks with texts and dividers. :D Comment if you have any better tips/add on's. All feedback is appreciated. :D
