Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
This is a build I've devolped to suit my playstyle. This is not a sure win pentakill build. This will not make you invinsible. How well you do is based on if your playstyle is similar to mine or if you are able to adapt this build to suit your own.
Ninja Tabi-I tend to get this first for that extra chase potential at the start and it allows for you to get your stun easyer.
Guinsoo's Rageblade- This item is just plain obvious for jax. Scalling atk speed and ability for a temporery health boost + atk and all for 2235.
Hextech Gunblade- With the recent buff this item is actually USEFULL now giving a large boost to atk and ap with the bonus of a very useful active
Phantom Dancer- This item is just made for jax, The atk speed and dodge give a wonderful boost and the crit rate increase doesnt go unoticed either
Frozen Mallet-If the battle somehow continues on for this long you'll be in the need of some survivability and the 100% chance for slow doesn¢ï¿½ï¿½t hurt either.
Atmas Implaer- This is very versitile and can be gotten at early game rather than late as it scales very well with jax's passive but my play style tends to lean towards this being one of my last items.
You will always have a hard time at this point. Your attack speeds low your pretty much just a meat shield holding a lamppost. He can¢ï¿½ï¿½t harass very well so make sure you teamed with someone who can. Once you¢ï¿½ï¿½ve hit level 4 you'll now have CS (counter strike) and be able to grab a kill or two. Leap Strike is good for initiating the assault and for chase which is why I tend to max it out first. If you can¢ï¿½ï¿½t get first blood or a kill period before Level 6 make sure you continue to farm minions at the very least. Remember this combo because it is used throughout the game. Empower/ Leap Strike/ Counter Strike/ - Rinse lather and repeat until satisfied (or their dead)
With a bit of luck by now you should have you¢ï¿½ï¿½re malady and are able to pump out the damage. Your should be able to rack up a few kills easy now. Aim for getting b.f sword asap because your atk speed won¢ï¿½ï¿½t be able to sustain you for long. Now you do have some tanking ability mid game from your life steal and dodge but don¢ï¿½ï¿½t get over-confident, let the real tanks jump in head first and then run in and pick off the squishier champs first.
This is where Jax becomes the Grandmaster of Weapons he¢ï¿½ï¿½s meant to be. His stun is awesome in team fights. You should be able to gank ANYONE and rip them to pieces before their team-mates can help. A good strategy if you being pushed is to ramp up your atk speed on minions then jump into the fray for that extra advantage.
Hope this guide is helpful for all you Jax enthusiasts.
I find defensive masteries work better with this build but you can go with offensive just make sure you get the Dodge and Nimbleness as these help Immeasurably.
The dodge seals are the big one here but you¢ï¿½ï¿½re armor piercing will contribute to a little bit more dps early on and is lovely against tanks. However it can be noted that Magic penitration and atk speed runes work wonders as well.
Ghoast and Cleanse is one of my favourite close combat hero combos. Especially good for chasing and retreating. However exhuast and ignite can work very well to though if your killing without a problem ignite becomes useless and counter strike works beter than exhuast and is only on a 4 second cd.
Have Fun ^_^
