Note regarding the author of this guide:

He randomly downvoted not only my Sona guide but also the Nidalee one with the sentence:

"Getting downvotes sucks..."

It's an answer to my vote above and it seems he can neither handle constructive criticism nor write some himself.

This guy is a mad troll voter and his guide shouldn't be read by anyone

I'll leave this here as a warning for all the newbies looking at the guide and those who might think about voting themselves: Take care, it is not only senseless but also only made for trolling purposes

Have a nice day

I like to delay the Shurelya's Battlesong for one item ( Soul Shroud) to maximize gold proc for a bit longer and get some more solid mana regen. The beauty of the build is that everything is built off of the Kindlegem so if you really felt you needed the extra speed early and couldnt wait, you could. As far as the what to buy first with support the Faerie Charm start I have found is still the most common start used across mutiple supports, although for Alistar i think his other starts are just as viable. I go over multiple starting items combinations for supports in the guide: "Core Items: Support Route" and the charm route is clearly there :)

great detail about ganking, thanks!

Thank you very much. I plan on adding videos showing off what I have written in detail, just have not found the right videos yet. TY for your support.

That winning streak...
Careful or you might get alistar nerfed

EDIT: no seriously how do you do it? I can pull off one, maybe two winning streak like that but 6!!!!!! lol what is your secret?

Like i listed in the pros and cons, it honestly has everything to do with your AP and AD carries... I have gone on 3-4 game lose streaks all because AD and AP carries do not know how to commit on a clearly pinged gank. Playing tank/support or off-tank/dps can be some of THE most frustrating positions in the game! Playing AP and AD carries are honestly some of the easiest positions in LoL as far as the dogma! Think about it, if anything goes wrong is it ever their fault? "Someone didnt ward enough", "The tanks are not keeping them off of me!", "you arent letting me kill EVERYTHING!", "blah blah blah!"! They are the worlds biggest whiners and have no problem running from a fight if they feel THEY have any chance of dieing and then ***** about it as soon as their are safe at nexus! "you guys are SOOOO noob, see i'm stil alive safe back here at nexus and you NOOOOBS all died trying to keep me safe!" Bottom line is if you got yourself a friend that ACTUALLY knows how to play AD and AP Carries your life will be a lot easier! Once you master Ali and his CC and you have carries that know how to commit and finish people off you will never lose in normal games... If you play with random people? You might go 3-4 games in a row losing cause you cant carry as a support/tank! You want to play a jungle where you can honestly carry the whole damn team and still win? Play Kayle! I've had honestly better luck playing her in the jungle in normal blind 5v5 with people i dont know than with other better junglers such as Lee Sin, Nocturne, and Maokai... They make amazing junglers in high elo games because of how they compliment the carries, which are always top notch in the high high elo games. If you are carring with Alistar or Maokai or any other more "tanky/support" jungler you are just playing vs a realllly bad team! (you are not "iimmmm sooooo prrrooo!" as some might say about themselves...) So is it really Alistar that is the threat? No, its Ali + Carries that know what the **** they are doing that is crazy! Ali makes your enemies sitting ducks and good carries can take them out like childs play...

Love the guide! I've played the AP and support builds and like your style. I've done really well with the AP and love it more than the all tank build!

This is a very good guide! Remember to always update it ASAP after each patch. Try to add some pictures to make it more interesting, but all in all, very good! +1. I also recommend you to add "Randuin's Omen". That is a very helpful item!

Thanks for the post! I will try to update ASAP, in the middle of a move which is why I have been a bit busy! Randuin's Omen is a fantastic item, you will notice I put it in my " Heart of Gold Route" section as well in build number two (support bot). You can go Heart of Gold as well as philosopher's stone as i have shown in a previous post, but I personally don't find it as useful for jungle- see guide for details.

Bild it is very complete but lacks the elixir

Haha so true! If you read my "Preface to Items" section you will see why i don't add elixirs/potions/wards to the core build in my guides (unless they are starting items)! You are totally right though, Oracle's Elixir is huge for a jungler (i assume thats the elixir you were talking about) but the time to get it varies so much it would be ignorant of me to put it into my build at a certain time (as if i know what the enemies will be doing when) vs just buying it when they start to hurt you with their wards- whenever that happens to be! Thanks for the comment, let me know if you were talking about another elixar! Thanks-

I've been trying to put in a Heart of Gold, as Phil suggested. I've found that unless I get several early kills, I'm really hurting for speed before I can get my boots of mobility. Part of what makes Alistar a great jungler is his fast ganking, and he can't do that very well without the boots of mobility. If you take HoG you are trading gp10 for a couple secured ganks.

*edit: I've been trying a HoG after my boots, and so far it's working.

Totally agree... If you get get your Heart of Gold with your philosopher's stone you lose your Mobility Boots and early Sheen... Both of which getting early matters, the Mobility Boots allow you to get those early gank kills and excellent mobility while getting Sheen next gives you the jungle clearance that you will need next (as you will start to fall behind other junglers as they will most likely rush their Wriggle's Lantern first as well as give you more burst on your gank as you will begin to need it as they begin to gain more hp as the game goes on... The only place i have found you can fit in your Heart of Gold as well with no huge issues is right after Sheen, just replace Aegis of the Legion with a Heart of Gold as follows:

First Recall: Get your philosopher's stone
Next Major Buy: Finish off your Mobility Boots
Next Major Buy: Build your Sheen
Next Major Buy: Build your Heart of Gold
Next Major Buy: Build your Soul Shroud starting with the Kindlegem
Next Major Buy: Finish off your Heart of Gold into a Randuin's Omen
Next Major Buy: Build your Shurelya's Battlesong
Next Major Buy: Build your Zeke's Herald starting with the Kindlegem again.

I would only do this if i was fed, as Aegis of the Legion is cheaper and provides great support. Thanks for your comments! I have added a section in guide going over this in more detail!
