Can you confirm that W passive is affected by Magic Penetration? It seems that you do damage for a fixed percentage, in my opinion this damage cannot be mitigated.

As a Kalista support main working her way through ranked, I gotta say that this is a really great guide. GLORY TO THE SPEAR

Good to hear there are other Kalista supports out there! To be honest I haven't played her as a support since Tahm Kench was released, is she still good in this role in this current season ?

Yes that's the first thing that came to my mind when I saw Tahm Kench: he does the same job as Kalista support, but does it better. The only advantage of Kalista support is the greater range of her statis spell.

Edit: I added an analysis of Tahm Kench compared to Kalista to the guide

Tahm Kench kind of removed the need for Kalista support (if ever there was a need). Like, if you don't already have Thresh to lantern you away, now you have Froggie do it instead. And Kalista doesn't really have much support ability in the first place. It's fun, I'll admit but it's kind of lacking as an actual support.

why should you play Kalsita as sup.

Why ask this question when you could have had the answer just by reading the first lines of my guide ?

this guide only will force people to troll in rankeds -.-

I've never trolled and I've never encouraged people to troll, nor to play Champions and builds they aren't familiar with in Ranked games. If they master Kalista sup, then what's the problem ?

You may have some good points, and I would like to hear them. It will be more useful than creating an account just to downvote :)

I've just read your new guide, I love it! It's clear, simple and thorough. I've also considered Runaan's Hurricane and Blade of the Ruined King but never tried them in game yet. I feel like it will make her too squishy and she won't survive teamfights long enough to use her Fate's Call afterwards.

My build is more focused on providing utility to the team through tanky active ability items (as she lacks utility in regard to the rest of the team), while your build seems focused on auto-attacking (to stack Rend and to trigger Blade of the Ruined King, Runaan's Hurricane and Frozen Mallet.

To make your build optimal during teamfights, you have to auto-attack as much as possible, which means getting in range and nearer to the enemies. That's what ADC Kalista also do, but in comparison as an ADC she has more sustainability with life steal and mobility through attack speed. In your experience were you able to survive teamfights well enough?

I can't wait for you to complete your guide, it could be nice to have an Items section so that I could have a more detailed explanation on your items choice and their effectiveness. In the meantime I'll go try your build in game to see it for myself :)

I main Kalista as a support in ranked games, but only in duo queue so far as your ADC really has to know what you´re doing.
I can hardly say we´re using the same build, but we´ve won 5/6 games, the one loss couldn´t be carried even at 15/2 :/

Thank you for your advice! Though this is a nice advantage and fits really well Kalista's playstyle, as you said the extra AP isn't useful, and its upgrade Frost Queen's Claim is in my opinion far less useful than Talisman of Ascension or Face of the Mountain in terms of the stats they provide and their active. Kalista already got a slow, and as crowd controls don't stack additively, the other items' actives would be better, the shield to save an ally and the speed burst to initiate or escape.

Spellthief's is a viable gold income item on support Kalista. You will be constantly poking the enemy, so the extra damage you get when doing so is great. Yes, the 5 AP is wasted on her, but that's not a big deal.
