Spells:
Cleanse
Flash
Ability Order
Icathian Surprise (PASSIVE)
Kog'Maw Passive Ability
Introduction
My rune choice is not out of the ordinary for most AD champions. I take greater mark of desolation, Greater Glyph of Scaling Magic Resist, Greater Seal of Armor, and Greater Quintessence of Attack Damage. In other words, armor penetration marks, armor seals, magic resist per level glyphs, and flat attack damage quintessences.
For my masteries, I chose what I thought suited an AD carry like Kog'Maw nicely. I took all the masteries for attack damage and armor pen and other AD bonuses in the offense tree, and I took some masteries in defense to boost cleanse and to keep me alive. If you choose to build Kog'Maw as an AP carry, then you would take all the masteries that help out that category, such as
Blast
or
Archmage
.
For my items, I start out with Boots and three health potions. Then, when I go back for the first time, I buy two Doran's Blade and head back to my lane. I then buy Berserker's Greaves and head back to my lane again. Then, I buy an Infinity Edge. I then sell a Doran's Blade and buy a Madred's Bloodrazor. That is followed by an Executioner's Calling, a Phantom Dancer, and a Bloodthirster. a possible alternative to the Executioner's Calling would be a wriggles lantern. Make sure to utilize the free wards for protecting your lane, the baron, the dragon, or just warding your jungle.
Kog'Maw's passive is Icathian Surprise. Upon death, he sets off an explosion in his body, dealing a very large amount of true damage upon death. Basically, you kill Kog'Maw, you die too. When I see people playing Kog'Maw, for reasons I don't understand, get their Caustic Spittle maxed first. The Bio-Arcane Barrage is the correct choice because it gives you range on your basic attacks, and it deals percent damage. A maxed out bio arcane barrage combined with a Madred's Bloodrazor deals ten percent of their health per hit. the Void Ooze is also very effective for slowing and ulting for sight. As always, take Kog'Maw's ult AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
On Kog'Maw, I take Cleanse and Flash. Cleanse is a good choice because if they have slows or stuns that would normally set up a kill for them, it doesnt work anymore. Flash is a good choice for any champion, because it can get you away from the enmy team fast. Some alternate choices would be Ignite, for the extra damage, Heal, for staying alive, or Exhaust for slowing them down, or shutting down AD carrys.
Basically, I have showed you how I think an AD Kog'Maw should be played. He kills you fast, he kills you first. Once you get fed(which I'm sure you will, because you used this build), you are practically unstoppable. If you don't believe me, go try it. I'm almost positive you will do well.
