As it happens to be, I have not really experimented with runes. So, I'll just give you the best theorhetical composistion that I feel, would work in almost team situation.

The armor penetration is just all around helpful, I mean, it helps universely to take down anyone. Likewise, the attack speed and critical damage does aswell, paired with phantom dancer, black cleaver, and infinity edge - you'll be an unstopable force, if you can stay back in team fights.

As this is indeed the most controversial section, let me explain myself. The combonation of infinity edge, 2 bloodthirsters, and a black cleaver put out 436 damage while negating 63 armor and healing you for 174.4 per attack - which is extremely fast due to phantom dancer, boots, and runes. The math makes it unbeatable, if you can maintain distance and unload your autoattack.
