This Guide

The reason this guide has been published unfinished is because I am only a silver player and I am still unsure of a lot of things in the support role. I'd really like to get some feedback on the guide so I can flesh it out further, and hopefully get a good complete Lulu guide for Season 4.

Skill Sequence

The reason I start with Help, Pix! is for early bush control.

I get Glitterlance next, which is when the ultra-poke combo begins.

Whimsy is the third spell I get, which unlocks full utility at level 3.

After this, you can pretty much go with your gut, although I prefer to prioritize Help, Pix!.

I haven't said much about the reasons for this skill order as this is discussed in the Laning Phase Chapter.

Support Items

Locket of the Iron Solari - If the enemy team has threatening aoe magic damage -- Fiddlesticks, Swain, Karthus, etc.

Athene's Unholy Grail, Mikael's Blessing, Twin Shadows - If they have a fed burst AP champion, such as Akali, LeBlanc, or Malzahar, etc. Locket of the Iron Solari isn't going to do much to help because the small amount of magic resist the item gives to each player isn't going to be enough to protect someone else from their burst down quickly. But with one or two of these items you can at least protect yourself from being burst down early in a fight.

Frozen Heart - Great if the enemy team has an autoattack champion going on a rampage, such as Master Yi or Tryndamere. The armor helps keep you alive, and the mana and CDR help you blast more spells off throughout the game.

Zeke's herald - I don't get this item often, but it would be a nice option if your team has at least two AD champions on the team who are responsible for dishing out damage (preferaby via autoattacks) in teamfights. For example, this would be great if you have Olaf top lane and Kha'Zix jungle.
