General Ideas

Depending on the situation, I either start Doran's + 2 potions or immediately start building into athenes with 2 faerie charms and a potion. You want to finish your Athene's first and foremost since Lux is very mana hungry, and can be blue dependent as well to keep up your bullying in lane. Your goal before level 6 is to keep your opponent as close to 50% hp as possible because every time they get close, it'll be a potion they have to use and you want them to use up all of their potions pre-6. Once you hit 6, start pushing the lane just a tad, so they don't have a chance to B and go heal. At lvl 6 you should be sitting around 50 AP, and what you're gonna want to do is Q,E,R, then pop your E right after your ult, and that can 50%-0% anyone down, and if needed you can flash+ignite to secure it. Another way to combo it would be to Q,R,flash + ingite then E where they flash to also get the kill. W

When harassing, you're gonna want to Q, then auto attack, since harassing with you E can get expensive without blue. Q + auto attack, and use your E to farm the caster minions, and if the enemy mid gets caught in your E blast, then auto them quickly. Your auto attacks can do some decent damage early levels with your passive proc.

Now comes item build, always go for athene's first. If you are winning lane easily, then just go for the Mejais, THEN Rabbadons. If you are securing kills with your ult, or getting 2-3 assists per fight, then you should max it in no time. If you are not 100% confident that you are going to get fed, then just spring for the death cap first, then deathfire grasp, zhonya's, then finish with abyssal spectre, or guardian angel if you are getting behind. you should finish off your boots right after you finish your deathcap.

This build is expensive, but with Lux, she's a ******* princess who likes shiny things, so make that money with her. At lvl 11 you should be able to ult every 30 or so seconds, that can be used to farm, or to secure a dragon-snipe with ward coverage. Use your E to farm minions like crazy, you can wave clear a whole wave or two with just a couple of E's and smart use of your autoattacking.

You might think, well since you get to autoattack, Lichbane is a good idea. but Noooooooooo, don't do it. It's a total trap that is asking for you to get assassined, and no one wants that cause I'll cry, then get manface Teemo to towerdive in your honor.

Use the DFG on the target you want to get hurt the most by your Ult, proper combo with that would be to Q, activate DFG, then Ult, but be quick to do it before your Q expires, if you pull it off, they just went bye bye.

When using her W, remember it has a yo-yo effect. Theres a shield going out, then a shield coming back in. Use it against harass, especially against champions who have a one-two punch combo. Also you can use a shield to quickly save against some tower damage, use it when soloing blue buff, or when you have ignite or any other damage over time effect on!

Other than that, I never worry about counters, because its 80% skill 20% champion. Everything gets better with practice, and I'll be sure to help tutor you with Lux whenever you need me to Abi <33 *chu*
