Hello guys and gals. This is my guide for lux. She is my favorite caster and support. Lux is a good mid champ but even a better lane champ. In this guide ill provide my rune build, lane play, item build and spell combos. enjoy and please rate :D

As with most casters, I go with the 9/0/21 mastery build.

Lux really shines because of how many roles she can play.

Spell set 1: Flash - Clarity: Laning/Mid
This is the main spell set I use with Lux. Flash can be used to secure a kill with a well placed snare or help you get out of a sticky situation. Clarity lets you and your teammate lane for quite a while. It helps also in mid and you can usually outlast the enemy mid and get some damage on the tower.

Spell set 2: Flash - Clairvoyance: Laning/Support
This is more of a support/lane spell set for Lux. Clairvoyance gives your team alot of map awareness while possibly setting up a dragon/baron steal with your ult. If you do go with clairvoyance you need to change the 1 mastery in Insight into Mystical Vision for the improved clairvoyance.

Spell set 3: Flash - Ghost: Laning/Mid
I usually dont go with this spell set but for new Lux players this can really be helpful for escaping or chasing down a kill. The flash/ghost combo makes you almost impossible to chase down with your snare and slow. The ghost also can help you get in place for a possible steal of baron/dragon

Lux in lane can be just as useful as laning mid. Her snare and slow are really helpful for high dps champs and can usually secure alot of kills. Luxs main combo is her Q(snare) followed up with her E(Ball) then with an auto attack to activiate her passive. This combo is a very effective harassing technique.

Lux is effective in lane with any high dps, nuker or cc champ.
exmaples: Xin, Vayne, Veigar, Garen, Wukong etc.

Bad champs? any tanky, support or low dps champ.
examples: Soroka, Malphite, sona etc.

A good lux can dominate mid. When playing mid i use spell set 1: Flash - Clarity. This makes you be able to harass harass harass. Her combo with her burst damage can really do damage to squishy mid champs. When playing mid its important not to get too frag hungry and get ganked because your tower is more important than frags. Your main objective mid is to harass, set-up a gank and get the tower. You can also run down river and hit enemy champs in other lanes with ur ult and get some assist or if your lucky some kills.

When ganking as Lux, it is critical to land your snare. This gives your teammate time to jump on the champ and get the kill. If you miss your snare, throw your ball behind them to slow them and this might be able to get the kill. With a little bit practice you find that you land your snare more often, the will help your team alot and let you get some stacks.

This is where lux can excel if played correctly. Your job as lux is to stay in the back, cast your shield on your friendly champs and land you snare and slow. Your ult is used in a team fight to do damage not kills. so you can open with it when someone iniates and by the time the fight is ending your ult will probally be off cd and be able to pick up a kill. It is critical that you stay in the back of the group but close enough for your skills to land. You dont want to be close enough so they can focus you. At the beginning it is hard to team fight caus you end up making a mistake and you die fast but with practice and playtime you will start to excel in teamfights and get more kills.

Heres some few tricks i have learned as lux.

-If you cast your shield on a friendy champ when they kill a champ you earn an assist with out touching the enemy champ

-Running halfway down river and firing your ult can get you some easy kills/assists.

-Your snare will go farther if you strike a minions or champ at full length then the snare goes about another 1/2 of the original length.

When a wave of minions comes cast your E(ball) between the melee and caster champs. A well placed ball can hit all 6 minions and with your passive you can get about 4/6 minions. For this reason lux is such an effective farmer and is able to afford more expensive items.

So the mains points on lux are:

1: Stay in the back. Land your snare and slow.

2: Gank effectively with your snare.

3. Always be looking for a kill with your ult

4. Just have fun with her and practice
