Introduction

Hello, my name is Luxanna Crown and I'm a masters Lux one trick pony, I play Lux because I like her safety, damage utility but most of all her Elementalist skin :)

Masteries

Masteries are pretty standard except for the fact that I put three points in mediation since going this build leaves Lux pretty mana hungry, going dark seal early helps since mediation regenerates missing mana when dark seal gives you more total mana so it makes mediation better if you use your spells sparingly you should be fine on mana.

Illumination

Lux's Passive is Illumination hitting an enemy with a spell which will apply them with light energy in which her autos or her ultimate can consume the mark dealing 20-190(based on level)(20% of Ability power) bonus magic damage. Lux's passive can be used to help cs by using Lucent Singularity (e) on minions and than procing the passive at rank 3 E this should be enough to one shot the caster minions. Proper use of this passive can lead to a higher damage output. The proper combo to use is q> e > auto > proc e> ult > auto. This combo allows you to proc your passive three times dealing the most damage Lux can output in a single combo. Basic trading in lane is e > auto this procs thunderlords and your passive and deals a decent amount of poke.

Light Binding

Light Binding is Lux's Q ability she shoots out a sphere of light that binds the first two targets hit and dealing magic damage to both and rooting for 2 seconds. 50/100/150/200/250 damage,(70% Ability power) This is a powerful ability being able to snare two people and having high range, however early game this has a fairly long cooldown and is your only escape tool besides placing E down and hoping to survive. Late game this is your main picking ability and landing this on a ADC all alone without quick silver sash normally ends up in a kill. Sometimes it is better to hold this spell and use it when you can guarantee that you can hit it.

Advanced Combos, with this ability you can click q and than flash to get an instant binding which is normally hard for people to react to unless they're predicting your flash you can use this combo to try and secure a kill after 6 or attempt to secure a gank when people aren't expecting it.

Prismatic Barrier

Lux twirls her wand in the target location which than returns to Lux after reaching the maximum range. Allies are shielded for 3 seconds which stacks on subsequent applications.
If Lux shields at least one other ally on the outgoing path the returning wand will grant twice as much shield. This spell is very undervalued and holds a lot of power, late game this shield can shield your team for a lot depending on the amount of ability power you have. There aren't any combos with this ability however with ardent censer being as strong as it is currently you can replace Ludens Echo with ardent Censer if your team doesn't have a strong Ardent censer user, such as Blitzcrank, Thresh or Braum.

Lucent Singularity

Lux projects light magic over a zone which slows enemies for 25%/30%/35%/40%/45% and deals 60/105//150/195/240 plus(60% Ability power on second cast, Lucent Singularity is an excellent spell to zone enemies you can leave this zone and slow enemies and pop it just as they leave or you can leave this ability on the ground to slow them. This ability can be extremely life saving in the jungle where in the incident of you being chased you can place e on top of yourself and run so when they try to catch up to you they'll be slowed and probably stop chasing. This is your main wave clear ability and damage so you'll max this first it also increases the slow when you put points in it giving an even better reason to max this spell first.
Combos with this spell, the most common Lux combo of q > e > ult this normally kills squishies if they have no MR. Second Combo this ones a bit harder to hit and you'll normally need to poke them down before this combo can kill. E > R in which the enemy is running and their low and you e proc instantly and ult as fast as you can to give as little time for them to react this combo is hard to hit at higher elo so you have to do it really fast the key element for this combo is surprise.

Final Spark

Lux shoots out a beam of light dealing 300/400/500(75% Ability power) If this ability kills at least one enemy champ a percentage of the cooldown is refunded, 10%/30%/50%. There isn't much to this ability except on when to use it, this ability is best used when there are a bunch of enemies already stunned/knocked up and can't dodge. When you haven't backed yet and you want to recall and the enemy is continuously shoving minions to turret, you can walk up to to minion wave e and ult to clear and recall and come back to lane so you don't miss any minions. Another time to ult the minion wave is when you know the enemy is roaming so you push the wave as fast as you can to force the enemy laner to lose CS.

Items

A lot of people say why Frost queens? Well Frost queens is an incredibly good item for picking, gold generation is not bad for the quest passive can be good for escaping threats. My Build is focused mostly on being gold efficient with Frost queens and Mejais.
Mejais isn't for everyone and you need to be focused on not dying and losing stacks as soon as you see a situation turning south you use your spells to try and save your teammates and you run away because it's better for you to live than die and get a few kills most of the time, unless your teams going to get baron after than it'd be okay for you to die for it. The point is buying a Mejais needs you to focus and practice on you playing extremely safe and not dying.

Spells

Flash: Standard on all mid laners.
Ignite: Lux should never be close enough to use this summoner spell.
Ghost: Not bad on Lux but situational
Cleanse: Can provide you better survivability than barrier in some instances so it's up to determine if you'd like cleanse or barrier definitely go cleanse over barrier vs twisted fate though.
Barrier: My standard summoner helps you live and your w combined with this gives a massive shield.
Exhaust: I ban Zed every time I play Lux mid I normally just take barrier over exhaust I don't think this summoner is that great after the nerfs.
Heal: Heal is powerful and can save your jungler after he invades and gets caught or gets invaded sadly, this summoner is countered by ignite so I rarely take it.

Playstyle

I play Lux extremely safe, so safe that I normally don't get ganked in my high elo games. I farm under turret push waves when my laner roams and only help my jungler if he really needs it, I don't like participating in early fights since with my build I'm trying to scale to mid/late game and Lux isn't that great early. I almost never roam since it's kinda hard to roam as Lux and in Higher elo it's easy to miss your spells and end up dying but if I see a clear opportunity I will push my mid wave as soon as possible and roam down bot/top. Avoid dying at all costs since you need to maintain Mejais/Darkseal stacks. Mid to late game look for picks with your q and frostqueens even on slightly tanky people if you're team is with you and you land your q you can just do the standard combo more so mid game than late when the tanks aren't as tanky

Team fights

Teamfighting with Lux is pretty simple you far back further than the ADC and protect your team with sheids and throw out your spells, you can try and look for a pick on the ADC when you see that the ADC is focusing on attack someone and isn't aware of their surrounding in which he should be pretty easy pick with q> e> r. Try and peel for your adc if you see their having a hard time. If you went Ardent instead of Ludens you can prioritize more on landing your shield on many targets than dealing damage. In team fights you need to be fairly far behind especially if they have many champions that can get onto such as Kass, Kat or Lee Sin. If your positioning is good you should never die however I'm not really able to explain how to position in a guide since it's more so a skill that you learn from playing.

This is my version of Lux and how I play her, she is a strong mid/late game champion with one shot potential lots of utility and big late game shields. Unlike most other Lux players this is a unique build that I play with and I hope you can try it in your games!

10th best Lux World!

I'm currently the 10th best Lux in the world according to Leagueofgraphs In north america I'm the second best Lux player but the first best Lux in North America is only d4 in solo que so if we're counting just solo que I am the best Lux in North America currently. Yaaaaaaaaay :)
