Hello and welcome to my Master Yi guide. Master Yi is a champion with many possibilities.You can build AP or AD.He is also a champion that can deliver a fast amount of damage in a short period of time.He is a very good carry and does amazing damage.

Runes/Masteries/Summoner Spells


Greater Glyph of Warding
This provides Yi with some Magic resistance which is good for defense.

Greater Seal of Resilience
This provides Yi with some Armor and again, the more resistance the better.

Greater Mark of Desolation
This gives Yi some armor penetration. Its good against enemies with armor on.

Greater Quintessence of Strength
This give Yi some strength. This is good because Yi's early game is not as good because he is very item defendant and this gives him some damage.

I chose most of the masteries on the offensive side so it gives him a boost early game and late game.I also choose some on the defensive side for armor,magic resistance, health and health regeneration.

Summoner Spells
Flash: I prefer this over ghost because Yi's Ultimate 'Highlander' is a good replacement for ghost and is not as much needed.

Ghost: Although 'Highlander' is a good option this gives Yi EXTRA speed.

Exhaust: You should use this with either Flash or Ghost. Exhaust is good for catching up with enemies although there is "Highlander' in 1v1 battles it gives the enemy 70% decreased attack damage.

Phantom Dancer: It gives Yi attack speed and movement speed. This is good because Yi already has alot of damage because of his ability 'Wuju Style' gives him a boost.

Yi is a champion very reliant on attack speed and movement speed.

Bloodthirster: It gives Yi alot of damage and lifesteal.

Infinity Edge: The most powerful weapon. This is very suited for Yi with the critical strike and attack damage.

Frozen Mallet: This is good because of the increased health. Yi gets needy in health late game
so the frozen mallet is a good item. The unique passive is very good as it slows enemies.

If you money and have completed this build you can replace the berserker's grieves for another phantom Dancer. This is because it provides the same amount of movement speed or even more and gives Yi more attack speed.

Early/Late Game

Early Game:

In Early game Yi is VERY squishy,apart from his 'Alpha Strike' there are no other effective abilites early game.So, what you need to do is play DEFENSIVELY don't go trying to harass the other team or try start something.Stay at the back and only come in to last hit the minions.Saying this I'm not stopping you to go kill a champion just make sure you've got your back and play it safe then sneaky.If you do get harassed you have your meditate and health pod's to start with.

Late Game:

If you follow this build I'm sure you'll be OWNING the other team.With your attack speed, movement speed, life steal and HEAVY DAMAGE I'm sure you'll be the best one out there.

Double Strike - Master Yi strikes twice every 7th attack.

Passive that every 7th can take out great amount of oponent HP pool without any problem. Scales with your accual damage (also with enhanced by Wuju Style skill).
Timing with this passive is very good especially in fights with other champions.

Alpha Strike - Master Yi leaps across the battlefield with blinding speed, dealing magic damage to multiple units in his path with a chance to deal bonus magic damage to minions.
Master Yi leaps across the battlefield striking up to 4 enemies, dealing 100/150/200/250/300 (+1 per ability power) magic damage to each enemy with a 20/30/40/50/60% chance to deal 400 bonus magic damage to minions.
Cooldown - 18/16/14/12/10 seconds
Cost - 80/90/100/110/120 Mana
Range - 600

In early game Yi can be harrased because he is very squishy and very item dependent.So this ability is good for farming minions and creeps. Yi also can't be targeted when he is alpha strike.

Meditate - Master Yi rejuvinates his body by focus of mind, restoring health and increasing his armor and magic resistance for a short time.
Master Yi channels, restoring 140/280/420/560/700 (+1.65 per ability power) health over 5 seconds. While channeling, Master Yi gains 100/150/200/250/300 armor and magic resistance.
Cooldown - 35 seconds
Cost - 70/85/100/115/130 Mana
Range - Self

This is a very useful skill in late game and early game. In early game Yi is very squishy so this can heal himself so he can sustain in lane.In late game when this ability is skilled up. It heals Yi very fast, it can be the difference of return to base and staying in the team battle to fight.

Wuju Style - Master Yi becomes skilled in the art of Wuju, passively increasing the power of his physical attacks. Activating Wuju Style doubles the passive bonus damage for a short time, but the passive bonus is temporarily removed after the effect wears off.
Passive: Increases physical damage by 15/20/25/30/35.

Active: Master Yi can activate this ability to double its effectiveness for 10 seconds, but this removes the passive bonus until Wuju Style becomes available again.
Cooldown - 25 seconds
Cost - 40 Mana
Range - Self

This is a very useful ability when levled up early game Yi can do alot of damage even without alot of damage items.Be sure to remember to use the active in fights with other champions.

Highlander - Master Yi moves with unparalleled agility, temporarily increasing Master Yi's movement and attack speeds as well as making him immune to all slowing effects. Additionally, killing a Champion refreshes all of Master Yi's cooldowns.
Increases Master Yi's movement speed by 40% and Attack Speed by 40/60/80%, and he becomes immune to all slowing effects for 6/9/12 seconds. Additionally, killing a champion refreshes all of Master Yi's cooldowns, and scoring an assist reduce the cooldowns by half.
Cooldown - 75 seconds
Cost - 120/120/120 Mana
Range - Self

This is also a very good ability it makes Yi a super killing machine.With the increased attack speed and movement speed . This can be used to catch up with enemies and as well run away, its a very good offensive and defensive ability.As well as this whenever Yi gets a kill with his Ultimate on he refreshes all his cooldowns and when he gets an assist his cooldowns by half.
