Master Yi Build
Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
If you are playing a large map then teleport can be used to assist allies and to teleport to minions near an enemy tower for a very quick solo tower push. If you are playing a small map, then I suggest switching teleport for ignite (for those early game tower huggers). This build can do a load of damage and can level up faster then anyone else on the enemy team (or your team). Yi is only about 50% as powerful without mana, but with tons of mana regain that wont be a problem. Mana regain will allow you to spam alpha strike to harass multiple enemies (or kill them if you know what you are doing), causing them to have to return to base frequently while you feed on minions. Alpha strike can also be used on minions more often, giving you additional xp. Meditate is far more useful then most people think, it increases magic and physical resistance when activated and when upgraded can heal up to 75% of your health! Meditate can be used to get out of sticky situations, like when you are being chased by someone faster then you (or has slow); they catch up to you, but if you use meditate then you will easily heal faster then they damage and give allies time to assist you. It has saved my butt many times and has even gotten me a couple kills by using meditate this way, the enemy is so intent on trying to kill you that they ignore an ally who has come to assist you or doesn't get it through their head fast enough that you have healed enough to kill them. Life steal early game is to assist in keeping you in the same lane for a very long time and boots early game are a must have in order to escape enemies when you are too far from your tower. Atma's impaler is for the early game extra damage that is vital to Yi getting kills and gives a critical strike chance bonus. Infinity is a must have for any good Yi build, it adds 50% critical damage and 20% critical strike chance, not to mention a ton of damage. Phantom dancers are an all around DPS build necessity, they have tons of crit chance, attack speed, movement speed, and dodge chance. You will probably win long before you ever buy the blood thirster, but if you ever get it, then you will have enough life steal to solo the baron! When fully upgraded Yi does 800+ damage a hit when wuju style is used, hits nearly max attack speed when highlander is used, can chase down any enemy, and has 25% life steal (200+ per hit). This build can easily take down a super tank like a fed Cho by using wuju style and highlander, then his main attack will take care of the rest. A word of warning though, stun is Yi's weakness regardless of the build, so don't do charging into a group of enemies that have more than one stun, you might get a kill or two, but remember that a death isn't worth a kill, especially if you have the upper hand (which you likely will with this build). Enjoy!
