Although Irelia works well against tanks, Poppy is quite an exception. Her W can cancel your Q as it throws you back, and if she manages to stun you, consider yourself dead. Absurd as hell.

Malphite

Just like Poppy but way more STUPID. He doesn´t really have to do anything, unless you get a gank that leads to an early kill, it´s unplayable. One of my three bans.

Darius

Just ban it. His passive is ridiculous. No chance of winning.

Tryndamere

It depends on how you start the line. Try to somehow get level 2 before him and all in, if not, don´t bother trying as he can heal a lot and destroy you with AA if fully charged with fury. If you haven´t killed him once before level 6, once he gets it, you will get hard stomped (if he doesn´t dive you brainlessly)

Trundle

Same as Trynda but a bit easier. If you get level 2 before him, all in and it should be done. If not, try to get a gank. If you play the lane well, you can win him with BOTR.

Warwick

I personally don´t find him that much of a threat, but if he´s good, you have no chance of beating him. Him being low hp doesn´t matter, he will just Q and instaheal 300 hp.

Urgot

Sett counters everything, if you face him, pray for him being awful, otherwise you loose.

Fiora

Major

It depends on how you play against her. Try to avoid her parry and punish her when she tries to hit your vitals. Quite hard but playable.

Renekton

Major

Try to get level 2 before him, all in and that should be it. It´s tricky because he can heal a lot sometimes but it´s still playable.

Kled

Major

It depends on how good Kled is. If he´s good, you´re going to have a hard line, if not, it´s pretty easy. Anyways care for his passive because it can activate mid fight sometimes.

Mordekaiser

Major

The problem with Morde is that he is ridiculously op, but if you play it well you can win him. If he’s bad, you have a chance (but still be careful because he can kill everybody even missing all his abilities), but if he´s good, try to rush BOTR and pray. Try to get help from your jungler pre-6, otherwise you will loose the game.

Jax

Major

I personally don´t find it that hard actually. Tricky because he can stack a lot of attack speed but you can win him anyways. Try to E at the same time he E’s you, so he doesn’t hit for free. If he’s good, then it will be a lot harder.

Singed

Major

Annoyig as hell, don´t fight him in his Q and care for his E, and don´t ever consider diving him. If you do so, you can win him, but still be careful.

Gangplank

Major

He´s getting level 2 before you, don´t even try, he has a really strong level 1. Anyways if he´s bad it´s a free line, otherwise he will just E your E and zone his minions with his barrels. Try to freeze the wave at your tower and ask your jungler for a gank. If you kill him once, it should be done.

Olaf

Major

Level 1 merchant. Play safe until you have level 3. In this match-up you are really dependant of your E and your W in order to avoid the damage he deals. Try to beat him pre-6 to have an easier match-up.

Master Yi

Major

W and play towards his low hp minions. Save your E and don´t waste it when he Q´s you. He´s squishy, so if you do so, it´s free.

Camille

Major

Tricky one, try to avoid her charged Q and her E, and don´t short trade her, she beats you. It´s not that much of a threat because the match-up relies a lot on the skill.

Pantheon

Major

Really hard but manageable, care for his Q and his stun, don´t play too agressive. It´s winnable but very hard, and if he gets a kill before you, it´s over.

Illaoi

Major

Winnable. Try to avoid her E and it should be fine. And don´t fight her when she ults, her tentacles heal her a lot and she will beat you, no matter how many times you killed her. Try to abuse her pre-6, you have a better pre than her.

Riven

Major

If she´s good, she will make your lane feel like hell, if not, it depends on her skill. All in her when she wastes her Q, it´s winnable but you need to play clean.

Volibear

Major

Really annoying, but playable. Don´t fight him level 1, try to rush BOTR. If you get a kill before him, it´s free, you stomp him, but don´t be too confident because he can still kill you (his Q is annoying af)

Wukong

Major

This kind of champs are really annoying for Irelia. I can´t say too much anyways because I haven´t faced Wukong almost ever but you´ll have a really though lane.

Udyr

Major

Kinda off-meta but if you face him you´ll have a hard lane. Don´t be too confident because he has a lot of forms, and as much as you can kill him easily, he can change forms and kill you too. Not that hard but don´t be overconfident.

Garen

Even

It´s not hard, if you get level 2 before him all in. Anyways it´s a champion for apes, so he can kill you without even wanting as well. Anyways it shouldn´t be a bad match-up.

Aatrox

Even

Skill match-up, pure and only. Try to dodge/stun his Q, and it should be free. However, don´t be overconfident, try to abuse him pre-6, because after he gets level 6 it´s gonna be harder.

Vayne

Even

Level 1 she will poke you a lot, once you get level 2, all in her and it should be done. Irelia works really well against ranged champs.

Gragas

Even

Never faced him, but his ability kit is kinda annoying. Try to E when he uses his E on you, and be careful on diving as his ult will make it really hard. Anyways it should be easy.

K'Sante

Even

Annoying as hell but winnable. He has a lot of sustain, don´t do long trades with him, he beats you. Try to kill him level 3, and freeze the lane if you manage to do so. Kinda hard but winnable.

Sion

Even

If he´s good it might be hard, otherwise it´s an easy lane. Try to dodge his Q, whether charged or not, and that should be it.

Gwen

Even

The only real threat pre-6 is her stacked Q. Try to dodge/stun it, and don´t be a jerk, her charged Q deals true damage if it hits you in the center, don´t use your W against it. When she wastes her Q, all in, and fight really close to her as her W can cancel your stun.

Heimerdinger

Even

Honestly I hate playing against him. You can Q his turrets but anyways he has a lot of damage and poke with his W. Still winnable.

Sylas

Even

Don´t let him short trade you, if you are playing against a Sylas, always try to all in him, he can´t do much against it other than run. Pretty easy.

Nasus

Even

Tricky one, try to abuse pre-6 and secure a first kill. If you do so, freeze the wave and zone him so he can´t get stacks. I don´t need to say that you should close the game early, he will outscale you heavily.

Dr. Mundo

Just avoid his Q and that´s pretty much it. You run him down easily, anyways he will play under tower if he´s smart.

Ornn

Minor

Irelia works really well against tanks, Ornn can´t do anything against you more than staying under tower.

Yone

You beat him easily, he´s really squishy. No big deal.

Yasuo

Minor

Same as Yone, but he can cancel your E with his W, so try to bait him. Don´t all in him if he has the shield active, try to poke it out first.

Teemo

Annoying as hell but you win him easily. Try to hold your E for when he Q´s you.

Cho'Gath

Same as Ornn, he has no chance.

Smolder

I played against him and he has zero chance against you. Anyways not many people plays it top.

Vladimir

Quite even, but the match-up favors you. His early is pretty bad, however don´t be overconfident because he has a lot of lifesteal. Anyways you should be fine against him.

Jayce

He can throw you back with his melee E, so be careful with your Q. He has low chances to win you.

Kennen

His only problem is his ult. Other than that it´s a free lane for you.

Rumble

Minor

Be careful when he´s overheated and that´s it. Easy match-up.

Tahm Kench

Tanky and bad early, not much left to say about him. However try to dodge his Q´s, he has good damage with them.

Gnar

Level 1 he will try to poke you, just start AA him. He can´t play the lane.

Yorick

Probably the most abused champion by Irelia alongside Kayle. You Q his minions, you can get out of his E, his early is really bad. Unplayable for him.
