Introduction

Everyone,

this is my first time using Mobafire so I am pretty clueless on how to use it and how this guide is going to end up. I'm going to keep it short and simple.

Anyway Mordekaiser is my favorite champion to play, I'll admit that he is OP on occasion but for me he is just a lot of fun to play and I play him a lot. I have never seen a Morde build like mine and I actually get flame when I purchase my items sometimes until those fools see what I can do. I take into account more than just Mordes bad AP ratios and include how his ulti scales and also how Deathfire Grasp scales. You will be laughing when you use Creeping Death to buff your armour and deal some dmg then Deathfire Grasp taking off a huge chunk of HP, then use Siphon of Destruction and finally proc Lichbane with Mace of Spades, if this huge amount of damage hasnt already killed your opponent in that short amount of time you can then use your ulti and ignite to finish the job and get a nice ghost.

Runes

MARKS:

Greater Mark of Insight I use these magic penetration runes because quite simply they add the biggest bonus to your damage.

SEALS:

Greater Seal of Defence I use these runes because they give you an early game armour boost and also when you hit level 4 you can easily wipe out any close by jungle creeps.

GLYPHS:

Greater Glyph of Shielding I use these because they give a good amount of late game magic resistance.

QUINTESSENCES:

Greater Quint of Swiftness These are really good runes, you will love the move speed for chasing and running.

Other viable Runes:

GLYPHS:

Greater Glyph of Celerity These let you cast your abilities faster which means more damage obviously.

There are other good runes too but this is how I play Mordekaiser

Masteries

In a nutshell these MASTERIES give you that needed 15% Spell Penetration and the Increased XP Rate, Move Speed, and Cooldown Reduction

Items

Now here is where my build differs from most. Please note I dont know how to add pictures yet I'll update it when I can.

I start with a Doran's Shield Because it gives an early game health and armour bonus as well as a small amount of HP/5.

The next Item is Sorcerer's Shoes These give you 20 spell penetration which will allow your abilities to deal alot more damage than otherwise.

Now I get a Kage's Luck Pick The small Ap boost isn't much but getting this item now will maximize the Gold/5 effect of it and later it builds into Deathfire Grasp.

After this I rush to get Rylai's Crystal Scepter You will need to slow ability from this as Mordekasier has no slows of his own, the HP and AP benefits are also very nice on this item. Note that if you use your ulti then this slow will last for its entire duration. For the build order I just usually get what I can afford if forced back to the shop, if not get the Giant's Belt first.

Now you should get a Lich Bane The extra move speed is very nice, the AP helps too and this items proc is underrated. I have managed nearly 2000 damage to a minion in 1 hit while using this and Mace of Spades. For the builder order start with Sheen and then Blasting Wand.

Now build Deathfire Grasp Put simply it will end up like another Ulti jsut without the dot, it is worth buying even for the wasted mana and MP/5 on it. The extra AP and Cooldown Reduction are very good too.

Now sell your Doran's Shield if you already haven't and purchase an Abyssal Scepter The aura off of it allows you to deal more damage and the magic res and AP it adds are nice bonuses. Start this item with a Negatron Cloak

Now for your last item the almighty Zhonya's Hourglass This gives you a bonus 100 AP and a nice boost to your armour, you also have a nice 2 seconds of invulnerability if you get focused. Start this by getting a Needlessly Large Rod.

More information on the item build

Now most people will say morde scales badly with AP but with my build I don't just take into account how well he scales, everyone forgets about how his ulti scales and then how the items scale.

Lich Bane scales with your AP and used it for a melee proc attack that will deal quite a nice amount of damage.

Now Deathfire Grasp is an interesting and underused item,
THIS SCALES LIKE YOU ULTIMATE
every 100 AP adds a bonus HP% dmg to this items ability which along with your ultimate will decimate.

Now Morde's ulti gets bonus HP% dmg every 50 AP. I have taken these into account and if you look at the total AP of my build it is 410, this means that you are getting huge benefits into Deathfire Grasp and also your ultimate with only 10 AP wasted on Mordes other bad Ratio abilities.

Pros / Cons

PROS:
Deals an insane amount of damage
    High survivability
Moves faster than most other champions
    Farms like a boss
Will beat anyone in 1v1 or even 2v1 if you have your full set of items
CONS:
The full item build is expensive (although you will still be a powerhouse while creating it)
If you are denied gold or early levels you will find it hard to get back up
    Your teammates might feed

Laning

YOU MUST SOLO MID OR SOLO TOP MORDE SHOULD NEVER HAVE A LANING PARTNER

If you have a jungler you should solo top, it will gimp you a bit but if you don't feed and just survive you will be ready for late game.

If you have no jungler you should take Mid no exceptions, once you hit level 4 you can easily kill the wraiths, wolves and your opponents wraiths whenever they are up, just be carefully to not get ganked. Killing those jungle creeps gives you a massive gold and XP boost and you will end up out leveling and have more gold than every other champion.

Advice

If anyone has any advice on creating this build guide it will be happily welcomed,
At some point I will also create a Situational Item Chapter but in the end it always ends up with those items already in the build

Additional Note

The stats it shows at the beginning don't take into account your talents or runes etc so at lvl 18 you WILL have over 400 AP not 390
