Introduction:
So they finally came out with a champion that fits me perfectly. I've always been into all of the dark champions of League of Legends, for example all of the Void Champs: Malzahar [One of my mains], Cho'Gath, Kassadin. I've always seemed to picture a dark assassin type role champion and here he is: Nocturne, The Eternal Nightmare. He's become of my new favorites and I'm still working on different builds and techniques that work best for him. ****, his damage output is beautiful.
Greater Mark of Desolation Greater Mark of Desolation - For early and late game advantages.
Greater Seal of Evasion - Who doesn't love Dodge?
Greater Glyph of Focus - For all game advantages. Shorter Cooldowns are the best.
Greater Quintessence of Desolation Greater Quintessence of Desolation - Once again, for early and late game advantages.
Alternatives:
Greater Glyph of Alacrity - For the extra Attack Speed early game.
Greater Glyph of Warding - For the extra Magic Resist early game.
Greater Quintessence of Fortitude - For the extra Health early game.

Items to take into consideration in the proper situation:
Doran's Blade - A substitute for Sword of the Occult. [Optional]
Boots of Mobility - A substitute for Mercury's Treads if you would like to make a quicker assassination/escape.
The Black Cleaver - A substitute for The Bloodthirster. If you need the extra Attack Speed and it's Passive to cut down an enemies tanks armor.
Banshee's Veil - A substitute for Frozen Mallet. Good while facing Champions like Karthus or Ashe for their Ultimates.
Wit's End - A substitute for Phantom Dancer for the extra Magic Resist if needed.
Infinity Edge - A substitute for Frozen Mallet for the extra Attack Damage/Critical Strike.
Optional:
Elixir of Agility - For the extra Attack Speed if needed.

Optional:

I'd say this is Nocturne's best build that works for me:
Nocturne is an all around great champion in my opinion. He's probably one of my new favorites and on the road to becoming one of my mains.

Note - This isn't as in-depth as a lot of the guides around. I'm stilling working on it, trying out new things. I'll be sure to update quite often.

Pros:
- Great early and late game damage.
- Can push towers and farm minions well.
- Can kill a squishy enemy in a matter of seconds.
- Very good at escaping tough situations and ganks.
- Good at chasing to achieve a kill.
- If careful, great survivability.
Cons:
- Can be squishy.
- If fed, most likely will be targeted.
- Can be easily shut down and killed if you aren't careful.
