Pantheon Guide Remastered S15

By KDBPANTH
Introduction
Hey im a diamond pantheon one trick who used these builds on my climb.

I have two variations being Bruiser style and Assassin style.

Bruiser style is a classic pantheon style focusing on kiting for cds and rotating through 2-3 combos. Super strong in 2v2 and 3v3 scenarios. General setup for most games.

Assassin style is slightly different from the classic pantheon play style focusing more on damage over survive. In the right cases building the lethality gives you crazy carry potential allowing you to snowball into a 1 shot monster.
Choseing Bruiser vs Assassin
When deciding whether to play bruiser or assassin, the draft should be your first and most important reference point.

Enemy Draft

The primary consideration is enemy tankiness and target accessibility. An assassin style only truly shines if the enemy team has at least three champions that are realistically one shotable this generally includes mages, ADCs, enchanters, and other assassins.

Equally important is crowd control and peel. Even if the enemy has squishy carries, excessive or layered CC can make assassinations unreliable. For example, a draft with Lux mid, Leona support, and Poppy jungle severely limits target access. In these situations, it doesn’t matter how fragile the ADC or a ranged top laner might be—the assassin playstyle will struggle to consistently find openings.

When these conditions are met multiple squishy targets with limited peel—the assassin build has enormous payoff, often allowing you to remove 90% of a target’s HP with a single empowered Q, even across grouped enemies.

Ally Draft

Your own team composition is just as important. If your team is very squishy or lacks frontline, opting into a bruiser build can provide much-needed durability and space creation in fights.

Damage balance also matters: if your team is AP-heavy, an assassin build can help diversify damage and prevent easy itemization against your comp. Conversely, in protect the carry compositions where you have a hypercarry backed by enchanters, CC mids, and tank tops—going bruiser can be invaluable for peeling, zoning, and absorbing pressure.

Ultimately, the choice between bruiser and assassin isn’t about preference it’s about maximizing your impact given the draft.
Rune notes
Just pasted out the rune notes so easier to read
1. Main bruiser setup usually for top lane playing around tap qs into all in with ignite.

2. Two variations of this setup first being boneplate:
Take boneplate in hard early melee matchups eg sett, darius, riven, WW, etc. Who CANNOT proc it without you retaliating or even scaring them off with q pokes. Gives major advantage if you trade well with it often being the sole reason you win trades. When using boneplate be actively thinking about the cd and play around it. Will often make or break a lane.

3. Support/jungle setup as mana issues are nonexistent triumph is taken. Coup de grace is stronger here as you are often ganking lanes when enemies are lower giving more value.
In jungle take attack speed rune for faster clears and if you prefer plaing safe take inspiration tree with boots and cosmic.

4. For easy lanes/weak early game you can take precision with triumph and coup de grace for more dueling power. Also when playing in support or jungle relentless hunter is often stronger.
Item notes
Just pasted our the item notes so easier to read

1. Dorans blade is your starter in 90% of melee matchups.
Dorans shield is when you have a hard poke matchup that u cannot kill, eg heimer.
Long sword refill is a very underrated start. suitable into mages and ranged tops which u have kill pressure. By trading qs with their autos you end up with hard winning trades after refill potions allowing you to abuse your high execute range with ignite. Super compatible with Assassin setup.
World atlas for support.

2. These are the boot choices I personally consider default is mercs as tenacity is so important but def consider steel caps for 2-3+ auto attackers.
Swifties into heavy slow comps such as ashe and nasus. High synergy with assassin setup.
Symbiotic soles is a special case for support pantheon in difficult lanes eg double mage where engageing is a death sentence, use the move speed to impact the rest of the map. High synergy with assassin setup.

3. Bruiser pantheon is the mainstream build and the best build in 80% of games.
Sundered over eclipse IMO. To me it feels like you lose 10% dueling power in exchange for 20% extra teamfight/ skirmish power with sustain and hp, in s15+ where objectives are so early it is super valuable.
cleaver for extended damage and the ability to fully proc with emp w + q is high synergy.
Steraks for burst survivability as pantheon has no disengage tools after he enters a fight. Super valuable for you to kite for cds.

4. This build is high damage and high risk provides insane carry potential in certain situations explained in main guide.
Youmuus is a very important item is gives you crazy gap close and roam timers, passive movespeed allows to you make plays that are otherwise impossible.
Edge is a very important as its close the gap or die.
Seryldas is what allows you to carry on dealing damage into the late game when everyones base armor comes online. It synergies with your ult passive armor pen.

5. Hubris is obviously the snowball item. Buy when very ahead, can still go youmuus depending on your role. (Hubris only suitable for top imo other roles abuse the ms of youmuus too much)
Opportunity is a replacement item for edge of night. In the rare case of minimal cc or you being confident to dodge opportunity gives more burst damage but less survive.
Sundered sky can also replace edge, it synergies with the assassin build quite well as you use the three stack combo maximizing your auto damage also providing a bit of sustain.
Mortal is the antiheal replacement of seryldas be mindful that if you can kill them before they can get self healing off seryldas might still be better.
Serpents is strong into shielding supports if you are having problems breaking through their shield or just use it to counter a heavy shield comp.
Following items do the same thing as in bruiser build.
Bruiser
Pantheon as a bruiser in League of Legends plays as a durable early–mid game fighter who excels at short, repeated trades and skirmishes rather than pure burst.
Instead of relying on lethality to one-shot targets, bruiser Pantheon builds health, resistances, and ability haste so he can stay in fights longer use multiple empowered abilities and function as a semi-frontliner. His point-and-click stun gives reliable engage or peel, his shield lets him absorb key cooldowns, and his ultimate provides strong map pressure. Overall, the bruiser style makes bruiser Pantheon more consistent and forgiving, trading some assassination power for sustained damage, survivability, and teamfight impact.
Assassin
This setup revolves around the three stack combo: w -> auto -> emp-q -> e -> e2. This allows you to oneshot all squishy champs and less tanky bruisers if you are ahead.
However this build has many weaknesses, into drafts with high cc you are unable to find an angle onto a squishy and is useless. Similarly into tanky comps you run out of steam after your initial combo also ending up useless.
Look for flank angles and try play vision in their jungle. If a squishy face checks that is a free pick. Also try use your ms to catch out sidelaners in a 2v1.
But into a comp with more squishy champs you can make enemy carries life hell oneshotting on repeat. You want to play vision and sit in enemy jungle looking for picks from fog of war or in the sidelanes. Your biggest powerspike is at 3 items where you can kill squishy targets with one rotation of your ability so abuse this spike camping enemy jg or just flash onto the adc.
Final thoughts
These are my thoughts on Pantheon, shaped entirely by experience. I’ve one-tricked him all the way to Diamond, through good metas and bad ones.

Pantheon isn’t an easy champion to climb with unless you truly understand him. He forces you to play with intent. You can’t autopilot. Every trade, roam, and ult timing matters. You have to know when to be aggressive and when to hold back, when to sacrifice lane to impact the map, and when to trust and take the fight. He rewards confidence, decisiveness, and game knowledge, but he punishes hesitation and sloppy execution.

What I love most about Pantheon is that he embodies responsibility. If you get ahead, it’s on you to snowball the game. If you fall behind, it’s on you to find value through pressure, vision, picks, and macro. You’re not waiting for scaling you are the timer. That mindset has helped me grow massively as a player.

If you guys think there’s anything missing from my understanding, or if you have suggestions whether it’s matchup insights, build adaptations, or mindset tips I’m genuinely open to feedback. I’m always looking to improve.

See you guys on the Rift.
