Just going to drop a suggestion. Deaths dance as a potential sustain item, later game, works really well with this build.

She's not an all-rounder like Alistar who you can pick against anything with any adc. Poppy is a counterpick support. Leona, Thresh, Kalista, Lucian or Cait have a really hard time against her and Vayne or Braum might struggle depending on who you support.

There's no reason to pick her in a Jinx or Ez lane. And you spell your own doom in a Zyra or Nami lane.

Below Dia, you can play whatever you want wherever you want anyway. It's all about become a tilt master to climb anyway.

Wait, wait. I know about the flash+E combo that work pretty much in Lee Sin style (i mentioned that in my guide), but that stuff is already out of the reach of anyone with high latency (south/east Europe, for instance), but also need good skill and can be used once every five minute (blowing Flash). And this still work only on people that doesn't understand how poppy work and decide to walk on her shield and get baited, most of the time.
This in no way like bringing Jax as a support, that is on the same tier as odd pick support.

But wait a sec, I want to stress out that she exactly need to land a stun to doom someone, and this isn't really so reliable as people think, someone that know how she work shouldn't ever get in a position that can let Poppy wall stun you! You need good skill, for something near what Leona basically do in a way more reliable way... And I really wouldn't advice anyone under gold a champion with such a skill need on her core mechanic.

Not really. She's kinda like old Pantheon support, but with a better late game. And useful even if behind. I don't play Poppy support though, for the same reason I don't play Galio support.

They're simply better with gold and xp.

Jungle farm and you can shred everyone's armor and deal constant aoe magic damage.

With top farm you can chunk squishies for 50% of their health with one auto.

With only support items... by the time you finish offensive items, people will be higher leveled and you'll deal no damage + explode when focused.

Make no mistake, she's a great support vs Kalista/Thresh for instance. As you can doom someone to death with only ONE wallstun and unless they flash, they will die. No dash or lanterns can save you. That's the thing about Poppy supp. I simply prefer to have gold.

She is disgusting bot lane. Pretty much a guaranteed kill at level two. It isn't as awkward as you might think to hit her stun, especially with flash. Watch the streamer Valkrin if you doubt me (Master/Challenger Tier play). You need a really beefy support like Nautilus to deal with her and even with that if your ADC gets caught they are dead.

Wait a sec, Vumsy, are you really considering her to be played as a bot liner support? She is really bad there, as she face all her weakness (poke, kitting, bad early game, bad at sustained trade, unreliable kit that can help enemy team, postponing a lot of her core item), while providing nearly nothing before her ultimate!
Let's also add that her Heroic Charge is extremely awkward to use botline, as if you use it to gapclose, you often end up moving further away from your tower the enemy adc! That while her really low base movement speed secure that you wont be able to get out of fight or stick to enemy!

I also want to stress that she is questionably useful late game to even try and cripple your bot line early game this much! She's even worst then a Dr. Mundo/ Garen support, in that regard.

Given your low gold income, I recommend full aura tank.

Either thunderlord and ignite for an agressive lane, or bond of stone and exhaust for passive lane.
Sightstone, Face of the mountain, Locket, Frozen heart and Righteous glory should be a solid build.

I can answer that to you as "don't play her as a support". She is some sort of bruiser/assassin, really. Especially don't play her in the support role, she suck botline ;)

If you want to play her as a support/tank top, well, just play Black Cleaver into Frozen Mallet/ Iceborn Gauntlet, i guess. You give armor shredding and slow to the team, while being one of the two base start... I really can't think to any other item option that won't give you problem.

I have been playing poppy as a tank supp but I don't really know what build to use. There are no guides on poppy as a supp so I have just been experimenting on a defensive build. Have you got any suggestions on the build and what (late game)supp item is best for this build?
