Updates
I will add more information to guide as time goes on. Any new changes to Riven will be addressed here and I'll will post my adjusts to the guide here.
Purpose of this guide
After Riven's release (and more so after she became available in free week), she seems like a very fun champ to play and she has become one of my personal favorites (ever since Ezreal). She has great mobility, awesome damage, and shes very VERY fun. Laning CAN be an issue when you first play her (if you don't know which abilities to use when harassing, that is) and she can lose her sustainability without her wriggles but after you get your items and get level 6, fights and team fights become better from there. I made this "guide" just to give you guys a decent build along with item choices that depend on who you're facing against.
Riven has a very strong harass if her abilities are used aggressively and carefully in the early stages of the late game. Once you hit level 6, you can pretty much spam her q to your hearts content because she'll get kills as her burst potential is pretty high. I'm covering a build for TOP lane solo Riven. You need to rush wriggles so you should be in a lane where you're going to be able to farm up.
Your final item should be a defensive item because if you eventually get to build your 6th item, its most likely in late game where you're going to need it the most unless you're fed above and beyond from champions and/or farm. lol.
You should ideally start with boots + hp pots or cloth armor if you're up against a tough lane where you know you're going to be harassed. You may use doran's blade for the dmg, lifesteal and health but only if you're confident you can harass/outlane your enemy well enough. The first build focuses on giving you alot of damage while giving you that slight edge from being as squishy as a glass cannon champ. The 2nd build gives you a more tanky riven with decent dmg which allows u to stay more in a teamfight and dish out more of that burst damage and you basically trade-off the atk speed and cld benefits of youmuu's for survivability. You can swap Last Whisperer out for Black Cleaver if the enemy is not stacking armor.

Flash and exhaust are generally good spells because if you get into sticky situations, flash will help you escape and exhaust will make it easier to kill your enemies.
You may substitute flash out for ghost if you're sure you can stay out of danger and having ghost will give you that gap for running away from enemies chasing you or chasing an enemy to finish him off.
Even though ignite may be helpful in finishing your enemies, it won't help you escape or chase an enemy, especially in the early game.
