Hello all, I'm vert1g0 & I have been playing League of Legends for quiet a while now.
My favorite champion at the moment is Riven, she is easy to play & she will burst you in to higher elo in no time!

I've made this guide because I see a lot of people playing Riven the wrong way, and I hate it!
Riven is all about scaring people, not hiding under your turret, this is where I hop in.
I hope this Guid gives u an all around look on how to play Riven properly.

THERE ARE 2 BUILDS: 1ste one is for toplanes, 2nd one is for mid lane.
HERE WE GO!

The Pros & Cons for Riven are pretty basic.
Pros are

High Damage
High Mobility (E->Q)
Extremely strong Early, Mid Game.
Safe blind pick, no direct counters
Hard to gank (since she has 4 escapes on her, including flash)
Can be played Top, Mid, or Jungle even tho I prefer her Mid/Top.

Cons are

She's not tanky enough to carry an entire team (unless u get fed like a maniac)
Her Late Game isn't that good compared to her Early & Mid game or any other strong melee

As you can see the Pros outwage the Cons, which is good if you want to build on your elo!

Explanation

Riven is all about bursting her top / mid lane, how else then with Ignite?

With this Spell nobody can escape from you. There are 2 combo's you should remember if you want to pick up some clean & fast kills.
1)The Chaser: Q + Q + Flash + Last Q + W
2)The Diver: R + Flash + Auto Attack + W + Auto Attack + R + Ignite
[*] Don't EVER dive anyone who has enough CC to pin you down, I don't care how fed you are. Perfect examples are: an Alistar combo, Fizz ult + trickster, Cassiopeia ult, Shen ult, Swain crepify & snare,... As you can see the list goes on and on so be carefull.

WHY NOT TO TAKE THE FOLLOWING SPELLS

Exhaust isn't so bad to choose as spell, even tho I don't use it much, it can come in handy if you're facing a top laner who can escape pretty fast such as Renekton or Nidalee (even tho Ignite comes in more handy vs her because of her healing)

As said earlier, Q + Q + Flash + Last Q + W, Flash is more effective on Riven than Ghost.

Riven doesn't depend on Teleport since her mobility is so high, she can easily gank other lanes & be back in time on her own lane to farm it again.

Maxing is always: R > W > E > Q > Q > Q
Unless if dominating hard then: R > W > Q > Q > E > Q

Against early harassing lanes go E-Q-W-W-W
Against most other matchups go Q-W-E-W-W-

Since Riven is the strongest champion in the game at lvl 1 with a doran's blade and Q combo you should take advantage of it, ask your jungler for an early gank & get First Blood.

The early purchase depends on who you are facing, i'll give a quick revue on what to buy depending on who you're facing.

Cloth Armor, 5x Health pots:

Plenty who are in this lane u can also face with Dorban's Blade.

Champions you can face with Doran's without any problems

[*] To start of with Doran's a lot depends on your Jungler, if you are premade with him First Blood is guaranteed, if not with a premade be carefull if u want to risk starting with Doran's.

So if you want to grow in ranked games, get your hands on Riven and start carrying games.
